Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Well, that was close.

As a recent member of the 3060 master race, I don't think you'll be disappointed its performance. It's not the best but it should keep your computer up to date for a couple of years.
Oh I know the 3060 is a darn good card, but my good old 1080 is doing alright. My monitor is a HP ZR30w, and it has a resolution of 2560x1600 and it can only do 60fps, so I think it will a few more years before I upgrade, unless I come across a sweet deal that I can't resist

Fortunate that you had to use a large pad station, as soon as you are through the slot the life support recovers, if you go to an outpost you have to be on the pad first. Suffocated about a metre above the pad one time several years ago.

I presume you also need to make the pad at a planetary station in this situation, though that would be a risky place to head for.

Before the card I have now, I had a GTX980ti and it was great. It died though so I had to get a temporary GPU until I could afford my new rig - that was a GTX1050ti and it wasn't that great at all.
My old 960 plays this game nearly maxed out in 1080p. It's about 7 years old now, so I can only imagine the 3060 is a good deal better and will last more than "just a couple years".

My 1050ti was great with Horizons but it did struggle with Odyssey. Plus you do the on foot stuff. Hopefully the wife let's you get a replacement soon. (y)

I was actually a little surprised to see that 60fps seems to be the standard for monitors (like mine) so that's another thing I need to upgrade to see the full difference between 1050 and 3060. I'm just more interested in getting a new case and motherboard so I can get away from the annoyance of propriety Dell shenanigans. Plus the PSU is on the outside so it needs shelter. Pic for example even though I probably posted it a few weeks ago.

Yeah got intrigued too. Bethesda is also a great company and i'm gladly paying for a number of their titles. However in my opinion the project of like really a throwing a gauntlet to FDev would be no easier task than throwing a gauntlet to Paradox by growing your own grand strategy game. Would be adventurous.

"... control, this is constellation starship Frontier ..."

New Atlantis - Planet of Jemison

Stopped looking for other "digs"

Wow - 100 star systems and 1000 planets ...

Sorry but it is just another FPS, no thanks ...
The standard COD style FPS gameplay is definitely the last thing I was interested in but I thought everything else looked really promising.

It's Bethesda though. They could make something really great or really bad. I approach with caution but I like what I see.
