Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Still out on the exobiology trail - a few choice SRV moments from the past days... carrier is showing signs of wear too ;p

Just out of curiosity...

What are you guys "working" on at present?

I've just hauled my sorry behind to
Seos (yay, I got learned in scooping) so I can hop back and forth to
Sothis for Sirius Corp faction.

I'm just interested so it gives me ideas for future ventures.

(although I now prefet "The Rimmer" - @@@O7 - brilliant :D )
I am on my first long range exploration mission. I have been in the black for about 18 months now. You can follow my progress in Twitter (X) if you want!

Oh, then that's a big problem there: you're following a very well traveled path that countless thousands of others have travelled. I looked for a void in space where there was nothing of any particular interest.
There's a "map" thingy somewhere that shows the "hottest" travel routes of CMDR's... can't find it now though.

EDIT: https://edastro.com/galmap/#-8960,0,20240,3
The area I'm in is quite dark in that map, but definitely not completely void of any visitors.
I've found quite a few systems where I've been the first to honk, but with my luck, they either consisted of a bunch of stars, a selection of gas giants with moons or a collection of snowballs and rocks. The three or four ELWs I have seen on this trip were all situated in systems where I crossed paths with other commanders. I think I had a little more luck with WWs, AWs and TFs. One of these days, I'll find an unvisited system with an ELW inside, but it still may take some time, given how scarce my playtime is, these days...

I don't know whose bright idea it was to put that very loud, annoying, obnoxious music into play every time you access the carrier screen, but it really needs to go.
I wouldn’t be too bothered by the tune itself if it was at about the same volume as everything else but it is many times louder than anything else to the point that it is quite uncomfortable to use the carrier remote access.

IIRC, all the audio files are in the .ogg format. It's therefore trivially easy to import them into an audio tool like Audacity and reduce the amplitude of the signal yourself.

Doing this to the client files on your machine will take less than 5 minutes, provided you can find the file. The best thing to do is file a bug report and ask the developers to reduce the loudness of the tune. I've found the audio team to be very responsive to bug reports in the past.
