sometimes the network servers sturggle relaying data when exiting srv or ship to surface you should have good and bad days
and is pretty normal by my exp
screen goes black footsteps continue
somedays it can get sooo bad itll hang others youll be out in 3 secs

OK - discovered what is going on...

You won't believe it....

Frame rate limiter is the issue...

For some reason (I can't remember why) ... I had set my gfx in game to 30fps ... when I turn off frame rate limiter I disembark in less than 4 sec.

So set to 60fps I have a sub-10sec delay ... I am not going to run unlimited as that is toasty, I shall just stick with 60fps and accept that reduced delay.

Crazy how many things in this game are linked to frame rate, just mind-boggling really.

BTW - I am out in the black on a bio-quest as I want to earn some credits so this is all planet surface. My remarks about space stations and surface ports (engineers really) was from someone in-game ... I shall bring them up to speed when they come back online in the game.

Yes that had been my (limited) experience too - but it changed for me recently and my post above explains why it appeared...

I have had it a few times with Anemone, sometimes so hot that you have to fly and land right alongside them to be able to scan them and get back to the ship before going up in smoke

ya mines off with it on it can take ten and 20 secs etc (i think when in transition a data location update packet is relayed to the servers at that time too which needs to be ack by server and client)

These Hoth stations are new and I've still yet to see one. Asteroid bases are a little rare, unfortunately, so it may take a while.

OK, that's interesting, thanks. Not sure if mine is limited but I'll check it out.

Disembarking from my ship I can count 32 steps down - boarding I count 13 up (Planet-side) but a little less in a station.

SRV is almost the opposite - to leave it takes about 6 seconds and to reboard takes about 12 (which can be a pain in the thrusters when trying to get away from a gun toting angy mob!)

See my post about this being related to frame rate, that might be of relevance.

The SRV thing sounds horrible.

That might be the cause of the stuttering too, perhaps one of FDev's updates inadvertently changed it.

Oh my god this is amazing. Solid work Cmdr!

Now to go and find the three or four threads which just stopped because no-one could figure it out and the player has continued to suffer...

Ryder's non-productive wanderings in a nutshell:

1.Back to ED, first assassination mission as an appetizer.

2.Well the ACTUAL mission target doesn't show up at the most important rendez-vous of his life!? Twice!

3.Already tired of humans. Inserting a tape that could be named "Mandolin from past centuries" while leaving the Bubble.

4.Hillclimbing at some icy moon while on my way for an exploration trip.

5. Feels better now, cruisin' alone with my good old piece of rust Tel Basta the cat-infested AspX.

Asteroid bases " a little rare"? Hmm. I've been to a couple while running missions for the LTT 198 permit unlock. So there are at least two of them near Tavgi.

Got the permit for the Modified Mining Laser. Now that fun part...gathering all those silly materials! Oh, and they got the V1 FSD (SCO) and the Engineered DSS at Zetian's Recall too.

So many toys, so little materials!

No CG, I was just running missions to get the permit for LTT 198 so I can get the Modified Mining Laser.

So when you want the lasers, you have to bring some materials instead of credits. And you have to bring same materials each time you want one laser! Pretty stupid if you ask me.

(20 Arsnic, 24 Rhenium, 28 Phosphorus, 16 Osmium)

The place to get it is at Zetian's Recall.
