Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Since the gaming PC is probably the one critical connection, you don't need to get into posho patched cabling and wall sockets. A back-to-back Cat 5e single cable can be tacked to a skirting board just like we used to do with t'phone line. Everything else can stay on wireless and if you're only going wired on one PC you've probably got a suitable port on BT's freebie broadband device.
Thing is, the way my house is laid out and, given the placement of the ONT into the property, tacking cable isn't really viable - it would involve being pinned around doorways and and stairwell and run under various expanses of carpet.

Mind you, cabling the router to the PC would involves drilling to the exterior of the house, running up the outside wall, up through the loft and over then back down to the computer.

Hmm...

Neither option adds to the feng shui :D

I'm trying to find the earth likes I discovered and colonise one of them an go from there but they're pretty far out of the bubble. There's a few things you have to do to get that list because it's not available in the game without hours of searching through where I've been. I have to link third party stuff, I'm nearly there.

I only have 1026 hours of game time on pc.and probably more on xbox, but the xbox version is not Odyssey so I don't play that anymore.

I'm using an Alienware 17 r2 laptop which is from 2015 so the graphics aren't as sharp as I would like them to be. Going to get a decent desktop one day so I can see it in all its glory.

I think EDSM will allow a download to CSV which you can use in a a spreadsheet for data sorts, doesn't it?

According to the guides I found, this is the only way [with both accounts on Steam] and the second ED player account requires a second Frontier account. After the bit of setup it’s all good - you can switch Steam accounts quite easily, automatically switching the FD account in launcher and to the appropriate CMDR on login :]
I take it that I'll have to buy the game once more to do that?
all from Frontier directly.
Doesn't work for me, if I have to buy another copy (access code) of the game, as Fdev doesn't want my money...

I have enough to do with just 1 cmdr
Yeah, me too actually.

The reason I have 3 accounts is that I started the game on one account, and then I wanted to do a video series about starting the game, to show some tips and such, and so I made a new account for that and started a new CMDR. This was the Codger account, and I did a rather long series on YouTube.

Eventually Codger became my main account and my first account just sat there, but it had (has) a lot of ships and money so I never reset it.

Then, later, I wanted to experience being new again, and I made a third account that I could reset now and then when I felt like it. I've reset that account a few times, just for the fun of starting over. But I haven't done that in quite a while. I've been thinking about it. I will probably eventually do that again if I get bored, heh.

Anyway, bottom line is that Codger is my main account and the other 2 are mostly idle.

Uncharted neutron star, only my second one.

I tried that too, but discovered they can only be sold to a Power Contact -
Sorry to bring this one up again - how do I find one of them dudes? I'm in a system that's considered a stronghold of one of the powers, but I can't see a contact anywhere.

I'm also looking into the DW3 thing but it seems everything is being done via Discord. I have an account but it looks a bit weird and unfamiliar. Don't you just love learning curves? :D

Only after having declared fealty to one of the powers. Then you'll find a (i.e. one of yours) power contact in every station in the "Contacts" section. You still may not be able to sell every power commodity to a contact everywhere - there seem to be further limitations I haven't personally encountered yet.
My footsie escapades so far have been limited to a few "eradicate the people in that settlement" missions. Those seemed to be easiest since you don't have to check whether they're friend or foe or whether you trigger the alarm or not - and I can pick up everything that's not nailed down (for those items that are nalled down - I did those missions in the Maverick suit).

Thank you! I'll just jettison those commodities then as I don't have any interest in pledging to a power.

They can pledge to be if they like, though :D
