Thing is, the way my house is laid out and, given the placement of the ONT into the property, tacking cable isn't really viable - it would involve being pinned around doorways and and stairwell and run under various expanses of carpet.Since the gaming PC is probably the one critical connection, you don't need to get into posho patched cabling and wall sockets. A back-to-back Cat 5e single cable can be tacked to a skirting board just like we used to do with t'phone line. Everything else can stay on wireless and if you're only going wired on one PC you've probably got a suitable port on BT's freebie broadband device.
Mind you, cabling the router to the PC would involves drilling to the exterior of the house, running up the outside wall, up through the loft and over then back down to the computer.
