Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Man, 37 degrees Celsius here today. I'm sweltering.

I'm waiting for the sunset, for sure, just like in this picture :)

Hi All :)

Yes, we have a hottish one today too. Hoping for a glimpse of the Perseids tonight.

Yeah, the heat (and the humidity) is starting to get to me, not sleeping very well, I'm up and about at 5am this morning.😩
It's not so bad in the day time, I can keep our patio doors open and windows to keep a bit of cool air flowing. I'm restricting my activities to the early morning and evening. As soon as I go outside mid day and afternoon the heat hits me like an oven door opening!
It's when I close those doors and some of the windows downstairs at night time (for security) the through air just stops, and it starts to become unpleasant. I've half a mind to sleep outside at night and kip on the lawn, but I don't have my sleeping bag anymore, I haven't been camping since my son was in the Scout cubs!

Perseids...Yup, I saw a couple late last night, but our surrounding area is nowadays swamped by light pollution, so there's only a small area of night sky (more or less directly overhead) that's 'dark'. When we first moved here (35 years ago) it was pretty good. I don't use my homebuilt 6" equatorial Newtonian reflector telescope anymore mainly because of that.☹️
The best Perseids meteor shower I've ever seen was when we were holidaying in Devon (Torcross) we were staying at a holiday cottage down there. One night we saw maybe over a hundred plus...one even exploded in the sky and we heard it too, like a rifle shot!
Incidentally I saw a what I would describe as a large spherical fireball about several years ago one winters night, that passed more or less directly over our back garden, no sound and it crossed the sky from south to north, very fast but that was very weird....cue in the 'X Files background music!

In the game...not doing much at the moment, I was going to go out exploring again, but with the recent announcement of the Vanguards and pics of the new S.Carrier coming soon I thought I'd stick around the bubble for a bit until all is revealed. Can't say this update is going to be of much use to me as I don't do any squaddy stuff and as you all might guess I'm mainly a Solo player. I'm interested in the new decal creation tools though that's supposed to come with it, I'm hoping they can be used in a more general aspect, and we can use them to create unique decals for our ships....depends how much it's tied up with any Arx payment though. ;)

Today?...I dunno, I'll look at the colonisation station creation tools maybe as one of my planet based stations still hasn't got the cartographic feature...I'd built another planet structure (installation*)* on the same planet expecting it to become active in the large pad created one...but damn all happened once it was built. I built those stations in that system mainly to have a created new 'home' base, so that's been semi successful, and the thought of trucking commodities to and frow again in any large amounts isn't a pleasant thought at the moment! :ROFLMAO:

*Edit....whoops! that wasn't quite correct...I'm in the process of building a planet based installation ...but I've already built an orbiting installation / facility in the system that gave me the cartographics at my Coriolis station, so I though that was adequate for (and would include) the planet based one, which it didn't, hence the new installation build on the planet. 🫰

Jack :)
A couple of years ago we had a heatwave of over 35 degrees Celsius, which lasted quite a while, so the house became warm as well.
I did sleep outside a couple of nights then.
Fortunately mosquitoes don't like my blood very much.

I'm having a few issues with Observatory. It must be me doing or not doing something, but FYI:

Hi :)

Yikes! 😟 I'm glad to read you're on the mend, and I really hope you get back to normality soon. ;)
I see you're from the UK. Do you think it was anything to do with the heat we've been having?...or was that unrelated?...either way take it easy for a bit. :)

Jack :)
I don't know what it was but I really don't want that again, thank you for your kind words. One thing I can't fault is the NHS teams that checked me over if it wasn't for them it could be much worse that and the team where I work who called them in the first place.

As me wife said I have been given another chance it could have been much much worse, once I am healed enough I will be back in the game but I'm taking it easy for now ...

Hope you recover soon. (y)
