Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Over 600c... so quite away out from the entry star, I found my first gas giant with a triple ring: two ice, one rock so pretty unexciting but a new thing for me. Pity you can't really see it in the photo but I'm not the best of snappers.

Still under half-way to Colonia. I keep getting distracted and tritium mining ought to be quicker... aaaaanyway...

When I do eventually get there, is Jaques Station the main place to stop for modules and ships?

I thought they had upped the Tritium preponderance? I had to grab 50t of Bromellite from a pristine icy ring today for that engineer guy and it was like drawing teeth but I swear every second asteroid had Tritium in it - what a pain.

Hmm. They did up it's efficacy but, in my experience so far, tritium hotspots seem to offer a lot of asteroids with little or no tritium. Yes, you do get decent ones but these are a lot fewer than than they ought to be - just IMHO, of course :)

I happened across a neutron star today. It was already tagged, but it sure was pretty :)

I'm still on my way to the core, bit by bit.

Nautilus class! That's my choice of layout too!

Afternoon all. Are any of you affiliated with any powers? It's an area of the game about which I know nothing. But obviously in the right had panel in the ship, near the button for 'engineers', there is a button for powers. I encounter a lot of ships in 'my' region of space which are allied with Aisling Duval. Got me thinking - there are lots of options behind that button. Is there any advantage to being associated with a power?

Aisling has a lot of weebs as they are suckers for a blue-haired waifu - plus of course her powerpants reward is access to the prismatic shields which seem to be de rigueur for PvP peeps. Other powers have other goodies as rewards for being with them for long enough. Have a look at the wiki for some info and then there is a whole sub-forum for this sort of thing.

Wow. I was just scrolling through and was about to say I'd seen vids in my Youtube subs which suggested people align with power factions so they could gain a few gameplay options and modules you can't otherwise acquire elsewhere. I'm still a bit stuck in a rut so I think I'll try that.

I need some enlightenment, please. I'm out the Skaude area of the Inner Scutum-Centaurus Arm and I'm seeing systems already discovered. However, I'm also being informed of codex entries. I don't know why. Here's an example:

What is it trying to tell me? I'm not first disco...

You get the codex entry at least for anything that you encounter for the first time in a given sector.

Look at the codex - you'll see that anything in there may be discovered, confirmed or seen by you (or something like that - three "grades" in any case).
