Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

You are still forgetting the budget. At 100M you have a D-rated Python at best, while T7 you can trick out pretty nicely. And I don't know why you think T7 would be less survivable. It has way more armour than a Python, both HP-wise and when comes to the hardness values. (shields don't count either way because you're equipping the smallest ones possible)
98 million will get you a fully-armed and A-rated Python, with the exception of B-rated thrusters. That's with a 5A shield generator. You can make the 10 million extra credits to A rate the thrusters in an hour or so after that, if you know where to pick up the missions, which, ironically, most often spawn where the T7 can't go - at extraction and refinery outposts.

Link.

*edit*
It will be even cheaper in a Li Yong-Rui system, such as Diaguandri - you could build a fully A-rate Python for under 100 million.

Interesting! It would pauper me but hey! :D

Incidentally, I was going to go and do that RES thing today in my Viper 3. I was wondering if a Vulture might be better but I'm such noob it may not make much difference. Choices, choices!

At the same time, I'm also in need of repinning blueprints so that means a visit to all (albeit just the three!) engineers. Time is limited today - as always.

Or I may just mission run in my T6 as it's building up my coffers at a nice steady rate at the moment. The one mission I love is the half-million CR worth shuttle beteeen Ray Gateway and Rothman Vista...

Didn't get to the RES after all. I made a Vulture instead. A rated a bunch of stuff, engineered what little I could, fitted a large beam laser and a large MC. Not sure how that latter will pan out but it'll be interesting to see what happens.

I called it "Zynaps" because combat in that game wasn't easy for me either. I'm going to see how many times I get offered a new Sidewinder.

I managed an hour in a CNB last night and finally made the jump from 87% Expert to 1% Master, I can tell that last jump to Elite is going to require an epic number of kills when I get there one day.

Tomorrow I’ve got an entire day off for the first time in weeks, my wife who’s a teacher and on her school holidays is away for the day so I’ve got a whole day of ED planned. I could go out, you know....actually do something but instead I’m going to lose myself in the Pleiades trading or log on to my explorer account and find the Gnossis if I haven’t missed it. I may dust off my Courier and do a little space jousting too....or push off in my space-lab Krait and do some investigations into the Guardians and their foes.

Maybe I’ll spend some of tomorrow mulling over whether this game has turned me into a friendless saddo, or if I was one in the first place:)

Lol, I know what it's like to have some time off and to yourself, and then trying to decide exactly what game to play or movie to watch. Or in this case, what to do in the one game that has so many options!

With my main account... Just maxed out fed rep..
Just about to hit empire space to do the same with them (currently 38% into Duke)

My second account is still doing the triple elite in sidewinder...
Elite in both exploration and trade, grinding in the hires (65% expert) so still a couple of thousand left to kill.

That's some *serious* gaming, fellah!

My plan today is to research then implement a relationship with five black markets. I may attempt this in conjunction with a 5kly trip thus killing two engineers with one tactical interdiction.

I'm not holding my breath though as I'm also knocking up a batch of base gravy for future curries :D

Hahah! My thoughts exactly. I didn't know about this endeavour at all. My solitary style of gameplay certainly robs me of some fun, lately.

To be fair practically all of my gameplay is solitary too (even Buckyball Racing). I connect with people on forums or Discord and join in with stuff like this (and I play in Open) but in-game I'm typically flying by myself. So don't let solitary gameplay rob you of community fun ... the two are not mutually exclusive.

Finally after about a year or so have found a pvp loadout for my vette that really works for me and am engineering it. Only realised that a lot of the engineering i had installed was legacy mods..which while decent are easily surpassed by the new system.

Kinda sucks but also is kinda cool that i can make what i thought was already pretty good into something even better.

o7

I know. :)
I'm playing in open as well. What I meant was that I don't really engage with community any more. Hell, except two Buckyballs more than a year ago and occasional powerplay streak for Aisling, I might as well play Solo. :D
I'll have to pay more attention to the forums, as I am not a part of any useful Discord server.
