Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

I know. :)
I'm playing in open as well. What I meant was that I don't really engage with community any more. Hell, except two Buckyballs more than a year ago and occasional powerplay streak for Aisling, I might as well play Solo. :D
I'll have to pay more attention to the forums, as I am not a part of any useful Discord server.

Compared to the discord servers the forums here is actually pretty civil- so its deffo the lesser of two evils.
My own expereinces with discord have been nothing but toxic.

Yes, I have the same experience, unfortunately. Any Discord server I joined proved to be insufferable and generally not worth the effort. Including the "official" ones like the Academy. Same with reddit. It's a real shame. :(

Interesting, personally I've had pretty much 100% delightful experiences on Discord, depends on the groups I guess (admittedly mine are all pretty specific - e.g. Buckyball Racing Club, Sagittarius Eye, Malibu's galactic Fuel Rat Logo, Lave Radio, Elite Racers, Delta Suqadron, Paradox Wing, Kolony) and I only tend to pay attention to channels about specific things rather than general banter. There's good and bad everywhere I guess (except Reddit which is all bad ... joke ... ish). :p

True. I probably joined the wrong people. I've never been a part of Buckyballers and I never joined Fuel rats, although I always wanted to. Two groups I KNOW to be containing the coolest people in Elite universe. My bad, I guess.

Its mostly the "main" channel on the official discord (which is pretty much the landing place for most newcomers) and it is, basically, awfull. Even the mods there are absolute trolls.

At least here theres some civil conversations.

But hey. Most importantly - fly what you like. Life isn't about efficiency. :)

I beg to differ. It's all about efficiency, specially when it comes to the Python. Like it or not, it still is the most versatile ship on the market. Medium Pad landing capability for a ship this size blows every other out of the water.

And sorry, the last term I'd lable a Python with is boring. I for my part would never want to fly any of the T-Series (Tried a T6 once. Yuck!). Mostly because I am no pure Trader, I've always been the Smuggler type and for that you need anything but a flying coffin! ;)

Everyone their own, the best short-range Passenger transport for me :D

As said each to their own but to focus only on one aspect of the game to me is missing the point. A lot of starters get over focussed on making money efficiently, then get bored and quit. The T6 is actually quite a good ship as long as you don't want to shoot things. It is quick enough to get our of trouble and makes a good explorer. Also good as a cheap transport...

At one point you need to shift the focus alright, or the burnout will get you.

I’m about to play 3.2.

And I don’t care if it’s “broken,” “too small an update,” or “too combat focussed” I haven’t played much recently due to ‘stuff’ so I’m up for some space fun.

:D

Tempted to have a quick run over to Colonica to check in with the new engineers.

Did you get invitations from many? Three popped up for me when I logged in, I’m not sure how many new ones there are yet as I’m busy playing rather than reading up just now.

I quite like what they’ve done with the long range solo trade missions, a bit like the old wing missions but smaller cargo amounts. I’ve just loaded up my Cutter for a 17 jump journey from the Pleiades to Kons.....I may have sore forearms by the time I get there, I’m anticipating much mission pirate interest:eek:
