Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

So... wait. You are refusing to go into settings and trying to adjust the Gamma value? Out of spite or something?
......

I haven't bought EDO yet and I'm not going to with this lighting in place. ......

I wonder if maybe Chris got confused by your avatar and that of @Brenda Zephyr looking very similar. (She has been having issues when switching between Oddity and Horizons.)

I pretty much never had to adjust brightness or gamma in any of my games, as well not in EDH - so why would I want to start with that now. It's their job to make it right.
I have generally adjusted something in almost any graphically complex game I have had, your setup and its location must be closer to the ideal than mine ever have been.

Well, if you don't buy EDO I guess you'll never know, then.
I have my fair share of problems with Odyssey, but if I'm honest (and I'm sorry) but your reason to dislike it seems a bit fabricated, which is something I've developed a bit of an allergy to. There are too many of you of late.
Like I said, we are no longer in the 80s or 90s, where developers expected their customers to work to be able to run their flawed games. We are as well no longer in the 00s, where some companies expected that from their customers (Bethesda). There is now an overabundance of games to play, not even a lifetime just playing is enough to even play a significant amount of the top AAA games. So if a developer wants their games to be played, they better provide a nearly perfect game - or something else will be played, which is able to provide this experience. We have choice now, it is not as if there would be just a few games to choose from. Times have changed and so did the audience.

No, I just thought that somebody who is criticizing Odyssey have at least tried it. That caught me off-guard.
I did as well criticize Fallout 76 long and intensively before launch on the Bethesda forum, warning others not to buy it by a variety of reasons - and in the end I was right with all of them - not one was wrong. It kept me from wasting money on that game and eventually it helped some others as well. I don't need to buy a game, when it is that obvious to me.

In my mind I have as well a right to complain and criticize it, when the intention of FDev is to bring this flawed technology to EDH as well - which would destroy my enjoyment of EDH to the point that I would just uninstall it for good. They are up to devalue my game, which I've paid for - and that is a good reason to complain and criticize it.

Elegance is for ballet.

Anything that works is for combat.
True, if winning is the metric. But I can definitely appreciate elegance and creativity, too. There's a guy who calls himself StealthGamerBR on YouTube that I watch from time to time. He does these amazing little play-throughs in which he demonstrates those qualities in abundance. Plus humor.

I don't know if you play Dishonored at all. I love that series. I've played it so much I've become actually masterful at it. I play on the hardest difficulty nowadays, and it's no problem for me. I get it done. But then I watch him play it and I realize that I have no creativity at all in comparison, and my hand-eye coordination is primitive compared to his. It's a joy to watch him :)

I love both dishonored games as well - there are so many ways to play it, especially in the 2nd one - I will have a look at those videos, thanks for it.

Tyres and I have now verified that pre-upgraded suits are cross-player. I saw a G3 Artemis for sale, which he said he was looking for, so I told him where I saw it. He went there, and sure enough, he was able to buy it.

Just FYI

PS: Performance after the new patch today is (slightly) better. Nothing much, a few FPS. I still can't up my supersampling to get rid of the jaggies. Meh.

When I started earlier, there was the 'upgrade' instead of play button on the launcher, clicked it, downloaded in 30 mins and game worked fine. No CTD on FC jumps.

Now I try to launch the launcher and it goes to a steam download window, which I run and download...... AAANNNNNNNDDD... error message... now trying it again.

Fdev loves to give me daily surprises.

What kind of annoys me that unlike the old engineering mats and synthesis which I have burned into my memory, I have no idea what the new stuff is good for. So for now I'm just hoarding. I visited the suit engineer with my G2 Artemis suit and found out I've been hoarding completely the wrong stuff, but even if I were to hoard the right one, I haven't found anything I would want. There were only some three mods, none of them interesting to me. The only thing I'd like to have is the night vision, but that's probably some other engineer I haven't even heard of, yet.
Imma head out, anyway. Hopefully I'll return with more stuff of the right kind, this time.
me too, i got more guardian power thingy's and Relics oh and a urn?( who am i planting in the ground ( :p ) more and more of those sentinels arriving. think i better stop shooting their towers.:ROFLMAO:

So you mean it's giving you an option to download from Steam when you are not a Steam user?

It's off topic so I keep it short - I had a look at his play style - his spatial awareness in 3D is remarkable and he certainly knows how to make use of the environment very quickly.

How on earth...

I splurged some ARX on a new suit look. When I go to edit loadout -> suit cosmetics, the pack I bought doesn't show. What am I missing?

Oh, and rep to Codger! ;)
It is also kind of messed up.
The cosmetics show as a normal suit part. And not all of them. There will be, for example, a knee pad that has the name of the pack you've bought. So you choose a left arm piece, then select the cosmetic pack knee pad and under that is the arm piece from the pack. Then you choose a chest armour, under that, select that magical knee pad again and you'll see the cosmetics pack chest piece under that and so on.
I don't think this is how it's supposed to work but it do.
