Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Is there a way to stop showing the 'city' indicator on bodies that don't actually have a real starport? My system maps have a lot of those three-bars-means-land-here overlays, then I zoom in and it's all civilian outposts?

(Also I can't tell if it's Odyssey, but I've jumped to about 6-7 inhabited but 'unexplored' Colonia systems and not one of them has a space station... I don't think I've ever seen a system without a station before. I just want a reliable agricultural system to be friends with, I don't want to have to do a planetary landing every time 🙀 )
I don't think you can remove those. I'm not sure why you want to, it just means there are settlements of some kind.

As for Agriculture oriented non-planetary stations near Colonia, I did an EDDB search and came up with Deriso, Metzli, Hamlet's Harmony, Kinesi, Einheriar, and Pekoe as having them.

Honestly, I just wish it meant that there is a reason to go here other than having a specific mission to go there 😹 Bit too many things asking for my attention now. Mostly I just want to know where I can dock and sell stuff, civilian outposts never used to in Horizons? I think?

And yeah, I was aware of a couple of agri's already, I was just buzzing around doing some quick honks and working out where best to set my base of ops. Seemed very odd to me that I went through a chain of systems with not a single station between them... but maybe they never had one and it's just my timing 🤷‍♂️

That's scary~~~

You gotta watch both the old and new.
Not everyone can get on with black and white movies so the old one isn’t everyones cup of mulled wine. I would recommend the original short story “Who Goes There” by Don A Stuart aka editor of Astounding/Analog John W Campbell

In the system map in Odyssey the POI tab has a section for Horizons style settlements.

The best way to make yourself notice if systems have dockable space stations is to play the base game* in a ship with smallish tanks and no fuel scoop.

Trust me thee are plenty of inhabited systems in the Bubble that don’t have them, more annoyingly there are some with only an outpost or two where you still can’t refuel.

*Removing the planetary landing suite should have a similar effect.

Finally done the 10 bloody painite for Selen Jean and handed in. Grade 5 access done, I think its time to plan for unlocking guardian stuff.

Before that, since I have geared for mining on my Phantom, so did a serious run for the first time.

After filling the cargo hold, search on EDDB, PROFIT! Its just less than half an hour of rock shooting 🤑

May be I should get a python or even T9 for this.

Edit: I have dumped around 30 limpets and some other cheaper stuffs for the platinum.

Only the powered-up ones can shoot back, and you'll get fines and bounties if it's not an Anarchy settlement.

I don't nuke from the sky anymore either. It's less fun.
Not that it isn't 'fun' in its own way but I stopped more because I like to fly my multi-purpose ship and Dumbfires are not very 'multipurpose' in this game.

Having said that, how great would it be to be able to actually raze a settlement with shipboard weapons... not just knock out defences but actually destroy the buildings.

Python was my most desired ship at one point, way back, before Engineering, when I was completely new. I struggled for months to raise the money for it, and it became my main ship for a long time. I could survive those pirates that were always interdicting me, so I was happy, and my cash flow increased tremendously once I had the Python.

I still have fond memories of it, although I don't use it much these days. Great little ship.

As I'm very conservative on my spending (beautiful excuse for my laziness), I'll transfer all stuff from my phantom to this mining python, plus a few more cargo racks to buy I assume~~
Er... I think I'm going mad but I can't see a refinery. As well as an abrasion blaster, you could try adding a seismic launcher for sploding roids.

EDIT and a sub-surface mining missile
