Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

I'm on my travels again then and back on the salad trail once more. I don't think I've come across this blue Fungus before. It's usually the orange ones of this variety...

If anyone is in the mood for fighting old school conflict zones, please let me know. One of my faction systems is under attack from another PMF who have two carriers in the system and my player faction is down on numbers right now due to family illness.
There are no large landing pads in the system in question, but friends can dock at my carrier if needed.

Fungoida seem to come in quite a range of cheerful colours - orange, blue, magenta… even seen some in bright green :alien:

…also found more of the Gelata in the Sanguineous Rim - in orange & cyan even:

Must admit my combat experience is somewhat limited to feeding on really tasty pirates making systems safe from the scourge of the galaxy, but i could give it a try - have next to no PVP experience in this game though, having just died a few times when i unwittingly wandered into Open on my way back from travels or tried to play a few CG CZ’s with similar results… :D

…still, having made it to Explorer II recently, it might be an idea to complete Combat Elite at last, in the interests of keeping balance - back in the bubble atm and could also do with some on-foot fun while i work my way through Warrior - @Tyres letmeknow if you’d like to team up for PVE next time you’re playing OD CZ’s? :]

I've managed to kill some Thargoid scouts in various systems and was going to try an interceptor or two, as somebody on Reddit said he's managed to kill some without any Guardian weapons and just used ordinary AX multi-cannons same as me, but the ones I've come across or been hyperdicted by always seem to be accompanied by swarms, so I haven't killed any of those at all yet. :sneaky:

I also got promoted to Gladiator a short while ago as a mercenary, as I've been doing quite a few on-foot CZs, so now I'm about to head out to the middle of nowhere once more in my carrier, with only about 10,500 tons of tritium, plus another 1,000 tons in the depot, to see how far I can get with the improved fuel consumption. I noticed on my way back last time that once half of the tritium I started out with had been used up, (I started out with a full load of 25,000 tons last time) the fuel consumption improved quite considerably.

If you have a carrier with lots of extras included maybe you wouldn't be able to get as far but in my case I just have Vista, Cartographics and the Three Rs, so we'll see how it goes...
Try Asterope for threat 4 and 5 emissions. Those are just scouts and I only use AX weapons on them. I don't have any Guardian ones. You'll be wanting a caustic substance limpet doodah though.

Just can't crack the 10mCR...

Whatsup? …are there “invisible” off-radar enemies again?
No, it's the old no progress bar, can't see what checkpoints are up or where they are, you can't recall your drop ship to take you home (you need an Apex)... you just have to fight until one side wins but you can't tell until one side runs out of reinforcements. You could always die and quit I suppose :D

Ahh ok… well i guess it’s still made some progress since those times when you arrived at a settlement and no one showed up… nothing worse than being all dressed up but there’s nowhere to go no one to play

Aye I could do with a caustic limpet doodah for sure - it's a pain having to enable silent running every time. Only trouble is I don't have room for both the repair one and the caustic one on the Alliance Challenger, so maybe I'll get rid of the repair one. But anyway that will be when I get back to the bubble as I'm currently off into the unknown once more. Also I just checked it on the map and maybe I'll try Asterope on my way back.

I've only done three carrier jumps on this trip so far, on a route I've plotted towards Achilles Altar region and I'm still in Inner Orion Spur. Found a high-metal planet 310,000 LS away with two bios and three geos. Already discovered by another commander but obviously didn't travel all that way in supercruise to map and footfall it as I was first to it. I had some stuff to do in the house anyway so I got on with that while my Asp X was on the way there.

Planet has two varieties of Brain Tree and Bacterium Tela - neither of which are worth much in Vista (well, ALL bios are worth a lot compared with other stuff but when compared with some other bios, not so much) but Brain Trees are good for the mats of course.

I was mostly just getting Chromium though and I'm now full up on that.

There do seem to be an awful lot of careless F63 Condor pilots around the galaxy though don't there? Thousands? Millions? BILLIONS of them even? Their crashed ships are all over the place and this planet (same one as the Brain Trees) has at least three, but I've yet to find a supposed maglock anywhere on the wrecked remains that I can use my arc cutter to open.

Yep very careless - they seem to leave them littered all over the place...!

This one had an arc-cuttable panel but the regulator was dead as usual:

*or were they just on holiday? :D

Anyway, doing some Tritium restocking today, for now... think i managed 4 runs yesterday before i fell asleep - so "only" about 16 more to go...

Fortunately it's not too far to travel...

...though from time to time i start getting tempted to haul my cargo through a nearby pirate controlled system just to make things more interesting ;]

PvP not required unless you play open and an opponent happens to turn up. Less likely due to diplomatic efforts going on, but the war still needs to be won. I'll PM you details. shortly.
