My internet got cut off while I'm waiting to start my new job. I had to call Shell Energy or whoever the provider is now. I was speaking to a guy and asked him if he was Dutch, but he was like, 'No mate, I'm South African. You were close though'.
I felt very embarassed because I love the Saarf Afreekan accent and should've spotted it a mile off.
Or did you mean it's quiet out there in the deep black of space?
Ha, I was talking about this thread, if I'm not mistaken, Commander ]M[ is from South Africa. I remember his was having problems with his power staying on and I think he mentioned that he was from there.
Interesting evening on my side...
First I found a planet that seemed to be made of strawberry ice...
Later, I found a planet tha almost felt like it could be the home planet of Codger's Rocks...
While I was checking the surroundings, right after I had jumped out of my SRV, one of them struck. I was able to jump aside, but my buggy was not as lucky:
I feared for the continuation of my exploration tour, as this was my only buggy.
But I was lucky, I found myself able to climb onto the rock and board the SRV from there.

Was able to upgrade my rocket launcher to grade four yesterday. Outfitted my brand new FDL for bounty hunting, went with frag cannons and was quite disappointed on the performance of the FDL without engineering.
Been thinking of what goals to pursue, really struggled with the titans not having enough speed to even get to the maelstrom, getting pretty close to making elite on exploration. I think I'll start on a slow journey over to the peledies to farm up some sensor fragments for Palin, and start working on boosters for my ax chieftain.

How the heck did you get that to stay up there? Mine kept sliding off, I think I'm too timid with my SRV after losing one 2000Ly outside Colonia, don't want to take that desperate trip again.
I slowly drove up there and pulled the handbrake in the moment it tipped over to the other side.
Had for the first times a few CTD with ED recently, now I'm waiting to finally have some spare time so I can play again.
Other than that, just watched Dr Who for the first time recently, now I'm addicted. And found the Daleks kinda cute for some reason, what is wrong with me?

I'm thinking of doing a small experimentette.
I'm considering entering a high foot CZ, hiding somewhere, and just positioning my external cam and watching how each side does with just NPC's fighting each other.
Not sure I could stay uninvolved though.

Awwww, it hasn't even extended its eyestalk yet. There's a whole exciting universe out there, just waiting to be exterminated or enslaved. Adorable.
It must be the tenth, I'm at the beginning of S3 from the 2005 series. And that's another "you should give a try" that is going to turn onto a lot of hours I'm affraid.

It happened to me once to land near an ongoing CZ without picking a team to see if I could loot something (nope), this is very fun to be like "I'm just passing by" whereas everyone is giving hell. I mean, fun for someone who thinks Daleks are kinda cute.
But how long could a Tyre remain uninvolved, I would say a few seconds, maybe?
I think it is quite unlikely if you pick a team that you stay uninvolved. There's always some NPC that will find you and shoot in your general direction.
I think that would be the way.
I would say that this depends on Tyres' resolve and willpower. But I'm pretty sure as soon as an NPC finds him, that team is doomed.

There is quite a range of SA accents tbh - i’m from the southern part of the country, so i tend to sound a bit more “old colonist” than “Bond villain” apparently ;]

The other problem is if Tyres has concealed himself somewhere to watch the flashing lights and listen to the pew-pew-pew there is a big danger he will accidentally go disco

Yes you are right to be afraid there are a lot* of very good episodes ahead of you and they are just starting to tease us about the latest series starting soon(tm).
*They have been running 1 or more series and specials every year since then pretty much.
