Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

I'm not sure if EDCopilot does similar stuff.
EDCopilot does exobiology, too. It knows the distances to the next sample and even informs you if you leave/enter the diversity perimeter of your previous scan(s).
If you come across other species while searching for a specimen to scan next, you can scan the other species with your comp scanner and return to the nearest scanned one once you have completed the other scan.
In systems that have already been combed through by other commanders, it can even lead you to the reported scan places without having you to DSS the planet first.

I really must give this app a go at some point. Perhaps I'll try it out on my next planned journey - may be Vulcan Gate

However, colonisation may arrive before that happens and I want to see how that works. I do hope it's not underwhelming.

ExploroBuddy user here. Tried CoPilot and liked it but I found Buddy's HUD overlay more to my preference.

Just finishing off that bio-rich system I posted a couple of days ago. The last body looked interesting - carbon dioxide atmosphere; most of my excursions have been on ammonia atmospheres so I was looking forward to different bio types. Disappointing... one tussock, one bacterium, low pay. But at least two new entries to my codex.

Onwards!

Doner? Chilli sauce? The ultimate post pub/club must-have.
Disliking chilli on a kebab should be a hanging offence.
Nice pics.
I was already setting up my Mandalay for a grand tour.
This CG was a kickstart to get into exploring again.
Even inside the Bubble there is still a lot to explore as worlds that are over 200000 Ly out are now easily reachable.
I already got several first discoveries and first footfalls.
I really hoped that Mandalay would be ready for purchase upon my return, but no luck. I'm too poor to buy game stuff at the moment.
I prefer hazardous extraction sites and compromised nav beacons where cops don't go, it's great fun when the different factions start fighting one another. My favorite trick with the bigger ships is to snipe them then bolter into the asteroids and wait there, when they arrive start your attack and don't boost, adjust your speed up and down and stay pointed at their belly snuggled up close. They can only hit you with their lesser weapons rather than the more powerful fixed weapons.

I never try to duel with them out in the open otherwise I'll burn through my cell banks and heatsinks, the lower the rank of the pilot, the easier it is to take out the ship. When I get their shields down, I watch their hull integrity closely, if it's not dropping fast enough, I switch to cannons and shift 4 pips to shields. Sidey's and Eagles pretty much evaporate even with an Elite pilot.
I should probably look out for those CZ's more but I generally stick to mission orientated stuff. Good tip though. I don't mind being a coward. It's one of my favourite strategies, in fact.

The larger Bio count CO2 bodies are normally a higher return than some of the other atmospheres, water is another good one.

mine alerted & notified me to a ufo over wimbledon common which i saw for all of ten seconds before vanishing in a flash over 40 years ago now
it did not make a sound well not that i could hear

i never thought the same way after that........
aint seen one since either and would have missed it if it wasnt for him🤷‍♂️
Interesting. Maybe call that one into Coast 2 Coast AM or something. Though they may question the levels of strontium you have in your bloodstream.

Today I learned how to climb almost sheer cliffs by looking for little ledges to restore your jet boots. Got a feel after a while for how much height you can gain in one go. It's just if you misjudge one you get to do the ones below all over again.

The SRV stayed at the bottom of the canyon.* At least until I flew off to go and buy another one...

* valley glacier, a classic U shape. Do nooooot understand why the ship wouldn't land in it.

ILS hazzard warning for tear drop approach i wouldnt land in it either:ROFLMAO:

I had an interesting experience, I had been running down bios and I like to get my fuel tank on the SRV below 10% before I make more to maximize my mats. I decided it was time at 7% and discovered I had no sulfur, I went into panic mode running down mat signals and on the second one found some. I forgot about exploding mats and drove over some manganese and flipped the SRV on its side.
