Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

I'd love to blast them and their flea ridden settlement off the face of the planet right now!
Get a Dominator suit and a couple of Karma dealers. De-inhabit the settlement, then add insult to injury and also shut down their power station.

Yes, that'll get you a few days in the naughty corner - but if you manage to pick up any unconsidered trifles in the setlement, you should at least be able to pay off the Interstellar Factors once they consent to talking to you again.

Hi All :)

Okay, that's the Corsairs upgraded modules taken care of...I had in store enough engineered modules to ramp up the ships vital bits, and more.
It's now parked. Picked up some lucrative trade missions as I was doing this as well, I can't desist from accepting these while the factions are offering them at such high prices.
I oufitted the Corsair earlier with mostly(ish) new parts. The basics are engineered and I've only added a couple of experimentals. I've been noticing that people tend to go with enhanced charge power distributors rather than high capacity, and I wanted to fully test that out with super conduits. I can't say I've noticed a difference so far so it's at least not a bad thing.

I do agree with Codger on the cockpit view. I may get used to the middle frame but it is kind've irritating. Though the biggest problem is how much of your view below the target is obscured. Particularly if you use fixed weapons (half of mine are fixed). It makes a target harder to track than it does in the Krait.

Add to this the fact that a lot of the cockpit is above the radar and it's quite reflective. Now even your radar contacts are obscured if you catch sunlight.

Other than that it's performed quite well and I made nearly a million a couple of times I went out. Though I had to make both medium beams efficient because I was burning to a crisp when I first skirmished.

I was just in one of those bugged CZ's where everyone except me is glued to the spot.

Normally, I just get myself killed and quit the battle but, this time, I decided to grind it out.

I did win - eventually - but it took a while as I had no support. Two things struck me though: the enemy seemingly have infinite grenades; the enemy have lots of the dynamic duo of enforcers and sharpshooters side-by-side.

This latter is tricksy little 'obbitses, even stationary.

And don't get me started on enemy grenades. Or should I call them guided flying land mines that target your feet and explode at them.

Still, the bonds payout was ~25mCR. Which was nice.

In the current CG, around the Onyx Bastion lots of Kamikaze NPC's in small ships are trying to ram me.
No success tough, my Python Mk2 can take quite a hit, they often blow themselves up in the process.
I should try and make a few screenshots of it tough.
The smaller the ship, the more difficult it is to hit for me when they use chaff (I use gimbled weapons). Out of frustration, I would aim my ship at them as they passed by at an extremely high boost speed. Those icouriers can be very difficult to take out, some have biweave shields and plasma cannons coupled with an elite pilot can be quite madding at times. So, I can take out most of their shields or 60% of their hull, I do get great satisfaction from a good solid ramming in a frustrating fight.

This is the leaderboard for my Power this week (so far). It's like a weekly CG, based on merits.

I've been doing a lot of merit-earning stuff and I'm well into the top 10%. I've earned 58,532 merits, and I will be paid 50 million credits when the week ends.

But this is what amazes me -- the top 10 guys have such huge numbers of merits!

I made 58k merits, but the top guy has nearly 3 million merits (and he gets paid a 1 billion credit payment).

I did not grind for my merits, I just did various things that were fun and also gave merits, but I spent a fair amount of time at it.

I can't imagine what these top 10 guys are doing. That's some serious grinding, right there.

I try to do more powerplay stuff.
I do get it wrong sometimes tough, i got to level 5 notorious when doing power kills.
That took a long time to wear of.

His sweater looks as though it has Elite emblems on it, I wonder if I can pick one up at the pioneer shop after the tic.

Hi All :)

There's no Starship Troopers out here
At last! 😌...3000 Ly's out from the bubble leaving it all behind...heading for a system that's another 15,000 Ly's further out.
Edit...I should arrive back on the 22nd to smoke me a Clipper. :D...and I just squeaked in setting another jump destination before the maintenance tick this morning!
Edit...6,800 Ly's...boldly going where no player has gone before, and first discovery's, scanning, first footfalls and bio hunting!

Jack :)

Today I am intending to get a little more engineering done on my Corsair then it will be back to the CG for a little more shooting around the outpost, though I might try the scenery at one of the other CZs instead.

I like the Corsair quite a lot but the stock paint job is bad, fortunately for my Arx balance non of the available ones in the shop appeals, the front hoop in the canopy really shouldn’t be there but is mostly ignorable, what is really irritating is the reflection behind the object compas holo display which makes it unusable at times.

I hear you on that front loop!
