Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

I've been trying to put an end to an outbreak with a tiny population of 50,000. If everything sums up, between missions and direct market operations, by now each and every one of those 50,000 persons should have around 30 kg of basic medicines, 25 of advanced medicines, 14 kg of agri-medicines, 6 kg of progenitor cells, 2 kg of performance echancers, 500 grams of Combat Stabilizers for god-knows-what and about 6 freed scientes per 1,000 people.

As today, the outbreak continues...

I have left tons of Selenium, Tellurium, Ruthenium, Antinomy, Technetium etc all over the place, as I have had full bins of them for ages.

I still don’t have full Arsenic and Polonium storage, but they aren’t far off.

We all had to do it at least once. It's an existential thing.

For me was more like a "test" to myself to see if i could really do such long trips out, and i did it, so now, comes other questions, and for now its probrably change ship to one i like more and do a more localized and thourogh exploring/mapping then going long distances.
I will not go that is for sure for the famous routes others have gone before, for me its all about travelling where others havent yet, that is the trill for me.

Yeah, I've never been a long-distance runner myself. What I like to do is to travel in a random direction and when I fine a spot I like, I spend a week around there, zooming around in SRVs and scanning everything interesting.
Much more fun than simply jumping for dozens of hours. :)

Totally agree, with the added bonus u get to find things u wouldn't in another way since there is those planets that u tend to skip when u are going the distance, skippin content that probably is important, interesting and fun

Ironically, I left Farseer Inc in daylight!! First time I had seen it lit up :)

I am about to do the “get sensor fragments for Palin” unlock. Now, I know where to get them from easily enough, but for those of you who have done this before, could I ask:

1: Do they cause corrosion damage?
2: If so, is it possible to collect them all in one go with standard cargo racks and then make it to Palin before the ship gets too damaged?

What is the generally accepted best strategy for doing this?

Incidentally, I got caught out by some of the new stuff in the game... I got back to Sirius at last, and thought “Oh, that’s an interesting nav location, looks like some new mega ship, I’ll go and take a look”. So I did, and then 5 seconds later all hell breaks loose with attacking pirates and the ship asking for help. So I did the only thing possible in the situation, and frantically found a system to high wake out to whilst 6 other ships made a mess of my new paintwork on my Krait :( I am so so bad at combat :D

Dude! I'm there right now!
No damage, just shoot sensors and pick up bits.
The bits go in your mats inventory, (G5).

Fantastic!! :) I didn’t know they just went into the mats inventory, that makes life a lot easier :D I needn’t have taken the 32 tons of cargo space with me then!

I’ll pop in for a pint with you if you are still there this evening [haha]

Hi troops. Been out for a bit, just started playing again a week ago after an eight-month sabbatical. Lots of new stuff in that time. As to what I am doing... preparing to do the Guardian FSD unlock. Some friends and I are going to make an expedition of it all tomorrow night. Myself and one other commander that have not unlocked it along with a few others that have done it already who will show us the ropes and make it seamless. Or such is the plan anyway. I have the ability to make the best of plans go t!ts up.

Going to take the DBX, Mad Hops. Looking forward to the extra jump. Good to see everyone again, and glad to see Dan and Chris still around.

And Tyres too! He started the thread. Good to be back.

Good luck with th Guardian FSD unlock! That is my next task after sorting out the Prof :)

I think it will have to wait until the weekend before I do it, but I am looking forward to that :)

Thanks Si, I may need it :)

The commanders leading the expedition have their stuff wired tight so I'm confident it will go well. And if it doesn't it makes a far better story anyway.
