Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Poo. That trip for cannons for the 'Conda has been kaiboshed due to lack of engineer access. Ah well.

Instead, I'm light weighting my Python's weapons' systems and getting explo experience en route.

Stonehenge... that's on my bucket list of places to go. Worth a visit?
I was somewhat puzzled by the sunrise and Stonehenge references but eventually realisation dawned .
.............

You didn't need to go - English Heritage livestreamed it.

3 minute edited highlights with drone etc - (shows why not to go!)

I always took visitors from abroad to visit there plus Avebury and Glastonbury (left them to suffer London on their own though!).

I went to stonehenge last month, there was a great bustard sat up by the stones, huge bird!
Saw Hawkwind, Cardiacs, Roy Harper, The Enid etc there in the eighties, travelled with the convoy for a bit, then grew up!
well worth a visit, also do go to Avebury and not too far up the road Glastonbury and Wells Cathedral, see the clock there, its amazing!

I can save you a group

Seismic Charge and Abrasion+Collector

A short press will launch a limpet once the roid has popped. This has the benefit of keeping max limpets at work without you having to keep an eye out for when they expire or suicide.
Nice tip, thanks!

I only have 2 active limpets myself, so it hardly matters. I'm not super efficient most of the time :)

The alternative is "can I haz cheezeburgers" scratched into the stones for all eternity. There is enough 19th Century graffiti on them already.

At risk of de-railing the thread somewhat, but... I used to work for the NT, many moons ago. They took on Prior Park in Bath, which has one of only 4 Palladian bridges in the world. The bridge was covered in graffiti, which ranged in time from the late 18th century chiselled copper-plate equivalents of "Kilroy Waz Ere" through to modern scrawl tags in spray paint. The modern scrawl got removed, but the elegantly chiselled stuff got left in, to the point at which you are now entreated not to touch the stone-work lest you erode ye anciente graffiti further....

There will probably become a point at which 1970/80's graffiti becomes "historically important" and unerasable, and no doubt "can I haz cheezeburgers, lol" will eventually reach that state, sadly! (Though these days it's probably mostly online instead, which is a different topic ;) :D )

Good times :) I don't ever remember The Cardiacs being at Stonehenge, damn!

The Wells Clock is indeed incredible, well worth waiting around to see it strike the hour and the knights knock the whatever out of each other.

I'm feeling homesick now...

I'll just sit and watch the grass grow.

Wow, Hawks...I was there! In a crap tent. We has a jawa 350 with homemade sidecar, made like a coffin. Would sit in the sidecar with a top hat and great coat, we thought we were the dogs nadgers!

Haha, that's brilliant!!! I'm sure I had seen you at some point in the past - you didn't ever go to the free-festival at Ashton Court in Bristol as well, did you?

I did many free festivals, mostly on 'ampshire, torpedo town, Stoney Cross, Farley mount etc. Most people remember me from the leather jacket I painted a Chinese dragon on the back with glow in the dark paint, 'freaked the heads out' (man!). Happy days! Quite surprised I made it this far really...I expect yo had many casualties amongst friends too? I shall raise a glass to them. It all went a bit sour into the nineties, brew crew, smackheads and violence. Shame, it had been really good. Spend time watching Julian Cope if hes about now, f anyone wants to know about ancient stones he's your man! He's whom I stole my micmacmoc name from too. I'm sure we'd have shared a cider/beer/smokeat some point Si!
