Actually launched the game for the first time in about a year and immediately found the best FC ever...

Meanwhile, I'm staring at ship transport costs ranging from 20m to 150m, and I legit can't remember which does what or how well they are kitted out. I only have 650m though so... I probably don't need that expensive python? I imagine it was my fanciest trade ship? How about a Clipper for 30m, or an Orca for 60? Will they "do"?

WHAT DO YOU NEED IN COLONIA AND WHY AM I HERE?

All I have is a Phantom in exploration loadout...

I have not been near the core yet where you can see so many stars in the background. Pretty! Now I wanna go!

Welcome back.

They are both large pad ships and will “do” for most things, the Clipper can haul more at a time and shoot more than the Orca, the Orca has a better jump range and is a quieter ship to fly, they are both extremely fast if built right.
I prefer the Orca for anything other than shooting stuff, I like my combat vessels to have lots of guns.

But @Codger has the best suggestion, stick with the very capable Phantom until you get back up to speed if for no other reason than it can land anywhere.

A bit odd this.

I had to grab a personal computer from an evacuated settlement. Easy.

On my return to the Apex shuttle, a bunch of scavs had landed and opened fire on me. I got to the beam-me-up-Scotty blue rings and... had to do an emergency board as the standard one wasn't an option. OK...

Got back to the station where the mission had been offered - from a terminal, not a person - and selected "complete mission". It blinked and returned me to the main menu without giving the optioin to hand in. I tried a relog but... nada.

Couldn't see this reported as a result of the last patch but it has been around before.

Was your inventory full? Emergency drops excess stuff. Can you still see the objective item in your inventory?

Just twigged that I docked up at Jaques before logging out... should I buy Odyssey just to go to the bar here? Is there a bar to go to?

(I still have my Frontier: Elite II storybook that came with the game, so it's a bit of a bucket list destination for me - if it exists.)
There will be a bar but if it is like the others I have visited the bar tender will be to busy doing dodgy deals to get you a drink.

Thanks for the heads up!

I just pulled the FE2 box down from the shelf and it contains both the story book, with the illustration of Jaques, and the gazetteer...
