That's strange, I'm the n00b and I found 52.
That's exactly why I want one: Jump into a system way out there, mine for a while to fill the hold for sale on return, explore a while without worrying about where to dock for repairs, jump back to sell the load, pay the bills, then back out to the black.
Rinse, repeat.

I've found loads of ELW, AW, WW (I only map these) and you get even more if any planet is Terraformable (my highest was 8.5M Cr, although can't remember if that was for one planet or the whole system, prob whole system).
I go about 2000LY in my FC, to random exploration spots and do a 50LY sphere of all systems - get loads of undiscovered also at this distance.
I also do mining for Plat, Osm, Pall, if I find a Pristine Metallic ring while I'm there, which is better than mining for Tritium.

If you set to Gal Map to only visit A, F, G and K you are supposed to greatly improve the probability of finding ELWs.
Exploration is going well the past few days. I've been able to completely transition to using mouse, left handed, and the keyboard to play the game doing exploration and exobiology and earned about 20M CR (after the carrier 25% fees).

Just found a planet with 6 biological signals. It is a LONG HAUL to get to.
Edit to add: There's also a planet in this system that has 2 biologicals and 1 geological signal. Never found both on one planet before.

The galaxy map settings are useless now as none of them save anymore. Each patch they have introduced a new problem to the galaxy map.

mere millimeters compared to Hutton...
Luckily I haven't found anything interesting out that far recently but I have, pre Odyssey, gone out to those, for "completion" sake because typically I will map everything worth 100,000CR or more, which means all Metal worlds and all Class 2 Gas Giants along with all the good stuff.

12.5% goes to UC and 12.5% goes to the carrier owner, so really I'm only losing 12.5% but my bank (non-carrier) balance has only increased by the 20 or so million (75%) I stated above.

You could always follow me around, I paid 250 million CR for fees and services on that DSSA carrier. I really want to do it old school the way it used to be done at least for a little while.
The collection rate for LTDs is about 5 times slower than platinum and it only sells for marginally more. Basically LTDs are a waste of time if you're mining for credits. Laser mine for platinum to get best return or core mine for Monzanite, Musgravite or whatever is fetching best price on the day.
You'd be faster if you switched off SCA and went full throttle.
