Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

I am just back from Colonia. I am changing engineer blueprints. We'll see what if anything we get for a CG this week. Thargoid starfish related or not, hopefully there will be a CG of some kind. My preference would be bounty, plus hauling, plus something specific for Stargoid.

Round up Salvation Supporters and deliver them to HIP 22460...Top ten get "saved" from the apocalypse...

I've been scouting out a system some more I visited the first time with my alt account. It's 6,000ly away and I'm planning on taking the carrier their with any other commanders that want to spend about 25-28 days in this area for exploration - hardly any systems are discovered.

There's platinum, monazite and more in them there rocks, and you get a view of this pretty planetary nebula while you mine - for a break from exploration and exobiology.
There's even canyon racing to be done in this system.

If this little expedition appeals to anyone here I'll share more details separately - start late September exact date TBA.
Shipyard and outfitting is available, so several ships and any modules you want can be brought along.

Edit: I used the neutron plotter for the first time https://www.spansh.co.uk/plotter
Not quite sure how much time it saves when you have to keep diverting to refuel. It did cut a 72 jump trip down to about 50 jumps including diversions for fuel, which then takes half a minute because the tank is empty.
Did it actually save me time? 🤷‍♂️

I saw one (not a discovery, it was well-trafficked) similar cloud formation in Dryaa Flyi area, though appear to have written down the star name wrong and not sure exactly now on it. It was in Dryaa Flyi, in the norma Arm or expanse somewhere,

It was discernable from my route, at I think a couple of hundred light years distance, larger than other stars - at first I thought it was a gas giant in system! Similar? Those are cool!

That looks similar. I forgot to mention in my post it is a planetary nebula.

I MIGHT be down for that. I've got a busy month coming up, but if I get everything done by then (which I want to, because my Birthday is the 2nd of October) then I'm in.
My thinking is 28 days is long enough and I want to be back in the bubble for November's update 14 and whatever that brings. There is one other commander I connected with via Reddit interested so far. So I can always nudge the start date to the beginning of October.
I have a channel on Discord Fleet Carrier Owners Club - #229-the-silver-citadel_h9h-tty_quain-marln
for collaboration. The other commander is there.

I should be able to let you know for sure by the middle of September one way or the other.

If I go, I'd like to bring two ships: my Phantom for exploring, of course, and if we come across a system with some good core hotspots I'd like to bring my Python as well. Out there, those hot spots will be untouched and we can make bank.

The fleet carrier will be orbiting the first moon of a ringed gas giant where the rings (A and B) have platinum, Monazite and some other core minerals. Monazite is the most valuable of them. I think I can afford to pay 250K/t for platinum and at least 700K/t for Monazite. I'll get the next best core mineral up for 630K/t. So you won't need a fuel scoop to mine here and it's just a short supercruise to sell and restock limpets. You can bring any ships and modules you like (transfer them in just like at any regular station) but no ships or modules will be for sale on the carrier. You must also bring an Artemis suit with you to do Exobiology. You can restock lost SRVs and there is ship repair and refuel.
Of course if you find a nearby system that's also good for mining I can understand the appeal of mining that too.
Edit: I would have to put another buy order on the market to buy anything else people find.
