Oh, that place. What does she want this time? A self-assisted gribbling encryption device maybe? I wouldn't be at all surprised.

So, the questions:
- How can you tell how much Tritium a trip is going to take?
- Are the upkeep costs taken out weekly or monthly?
- Should I run "anybody can dock" even when I'm not selling anything or should I restrict it?
- In general best practices advice VERY welcome.

Weekly - you get an email in your inboxAre the upkeep costs taken out weekly or monthly?
Your choice. Very few are going to complain if you leave it open for docking, very few are going to complain if you don't.Should I run "anybody can dock" even when I'm not selling anything or should I restrict it?
Calculate your weekly upkeep, then load up the carrier's account with a few years' worth. Keep in mind that the upkeep cost are taken from the carrier account, NOT your CMDR's running account. In general best practices advice VERY welcome.

Perhaps it's a matter of playing style. I have never had any problem remaining undetected, with or without crouching, when I want to be. But I also don't generally run through settlementsNot making any noises while running through settlements, even when you behave and dont carry anything illegal, can still save you from drawing guards attention towards you and getting scanned thus slowing you down.
You make a good point. It certainly wouldn't hurt to have it. But in my experience the times I have to actually crouch and sneak are few and far between. It doesn't seem worth the hassle of getting the mod, for me.I find walking around crouched to be annoying.
That said, that would be a mod I'd get because the vast majority of the time, I'm walking. Being as silent as crouched while walking would be awesome.
Congrats!OK, folks - here it is: The Nebuchadnezzar

On the way back to the carrier in my T9 full of Tritium as I type this.If you're flush with cash, I'd say keep a non flying T9 (or Cutter, if you prefer) with maxed out cargo slots on the FC just to transfer tritium. No need for fancy modules or anything, it's just there as a mule.
That's what I do, at least
BTW, congratulations![]()
He just paid probably ~6 BCr. for the carrier, so cash shouldn't the issue. But yes - good idea. Also, even if you make it 100% cargo - put in the ADC and SCA. After the tenth trip between the station and your carrier, you'll fall asleep on the stick. If you're flush with cash, I'd say keep a non flying T9 (or Cutter, if you prefer) with maxed out cargo slots on the FC just to transfer tritium. Yes. Yes it is.It's just so wicked bad coming in to land on your own fleet carrier.

Transfer from your Inventory on your right panel, in your ship.OK, so I came back full of Tritium and donated as much as I could and filled the tank up to 1000.
But now I'm sitting here with a couple hundred Tritium left on my T9. How do I get that into the storage hold on the carrier to use later?
You'd lose a bit more cargo space with a size 6 shield generator. But with that, a couple of Guardian Shield Reinforcements and a full set of engineered shield boosters, the Cutter is pretty much ungankable in Open, too. It's not mass-lockable (except by another Cutter), so the old submit, boost and back to SC works pretty well.I use an Imperial Cutter for transport, only 740 Cargo capacity but it is very well shielded and armed, I don't try to escape interdictions, I kill the interdictor and take the bounty.
But again, I only play solo...
