So someone named an M1A1 after Roland’s sword, or maybe after one of the sword worlds in H Beam Piper’s Space Viking.
Unfortunately that is a common design flaw in the Dolphin, Orca and Beluga, get round the problem by using collector limpets.I like it for combat purposes. Has plenty of speed for quickly escaping as well if I'm getting a lot of damage. Also good for getting materials from degraded signal sources etc. Sadly the Dolphin isn't much good for that though, as the cargo scoop is almost impossible to see properly because of the very bright strip that's part of the cockpit and is right underneath it when deployed.
Re Felicity, she now wants Chemical manipulators and a Chemical distillery...
About the best ship for scooping is the Alliance Chieftain with presumably its sister ships the Crusader and Challenger being about as good.

I rarely use the scoop to pick up stuff in any ship. If there are one or two, okay. But 10? No way.
It was a toss-up between that or Thicc Boi or Barbie's Playhouse (Sodomizer was a good one too), I almost went with Ole Fireball.
I had an interesting day, found two of those Thargoid senser chingadera's, funny thing is I couldn't target the senser itself, only the fragments.

Aye, I already have that Inara link and also have a login there. I was originally going to go to that bloke on Iapetus who's one of the other engs who can do FSD upgrades, but as quite a few others have as well went to Felicity in the end. I still might go elsewhere though and will probably want upgrades for other modules eventually that Felicity can't do.
Yes I know where you're coming from but I've found it pretty quick and easy in the Mamba for some reason. Seems to have a wider sweet spot in the cargo scoop aiming rectangle for some reason - ie stuff that would have missed on other ships still gets collected. The Cobra MkIII is good for that as well.
Very fast, but not very maneuverable. It's a "boom and zoom" type ship.
I still prefer the Chieftain or the Challenger - plenty of firepower and can turn on a dime. The Krait Mk II is good as well for bounty hunting, but again it just can't turn like the Alliance ships can.
It depends on your flying style as to which you use I guess. I still take my Mamba out once in a while just for the LOL's at hitting boost and watching the pirates get left behind like a herd of grazing cattle.

It seems to take a lot longer gaining ranks in the newer Ody disciplines than it did in "classic" ED. Probably just my perception.
And is it just me, or are systems out here Colonia way far more devoid of planets with organics?
