Finally got off work to check out the John Hammond Statue, doing some experiments on my testing map to see how it would look in a future dream Jurassic World park.
In the first test, I placed it right at the front of the Innovation Center to make it a homage to Jurassic World as best I could, because that's where it was found in. And I want to say this: It looks fantastic! It looks just like what was used in the actual movie, and what a great way to honor the man himself (Richard Attenborough/John Hammond).
But, as you can see, because the NPCs are triggered to walk in a straight line when entering and exiting, they phase through the statue, so that was an "X" for me.
So, the next experiments I did was place it in the middle of the Main Street template, partly inspired by how some statues in parks are like, and partly inspired by the Walt Disney statue in Disney parks. One was placed fairly close to the Innovation center to keep that homage I had in mind, in a patch of plants. Another was placed really close to the park entrance, next to a big fountain, taking inspiration of the idea of big or honorable pieces of decor near front entrances in general.
They all look pretty good in these tests I made. They both really capture the image of honoring the man in front of all people when they enter the park, or at least walk in the middle of the main part of the park. Not sure which one is best for my dream Jurassic World park, but I'll find out when the time comes.
Edit: Looking back at the one with the plants, I feel like maybe I should’ve placed it further up front with all the plants in the center behind it.
