I re-did re-enacting
Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis' exercise "Dangerous Abodes" that is to manage a park full of carnivores and dangerous dinosaurs. To put it in simpler terms, I made an all-carnivores Jurassic-Park-type park. This time, I built the park in the Alpine square map. Note that making this all-carnivores Jurassic-Park-type park is not to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the film
Jurassic Park.
Species Unlock Shuffling
- This is a new setting to partially randomise the order in which species can be unlocked on the tech tree for both Custom Challenge and Sandbox mode.
To try this feature out in the most recent major update, I enabled research for the first time when making an all-carnivores park.
Here is what the park entrance looks like though it is small time.
After entering, there are two viewing gallery attractions and the first is Compsognathus.
Enabled Proceratosaurus and Monolophosaurus to attack Ranger Teams
Due to a feature in a major update that came with the Prehistoric Marine Species pack, I decided to make Proceratosaurus a viewing gallery attraction due to a possibility of it attacking the tour cars.
From the first Park Tour station, people can view Coelophysis and Troodon on the way to the second station. When going from the second back to the first station, only Troodon is viewable.
I put Dilophosaurus, Herrerasaurus, and Velociraptor in separate enclosures in the second section. Besides the viewing gallery, the dome viewing gallery enabled the closer viewing of the small hunting predators.
Beyond the second section, the park tour is used to connect the other sections in a loop.
In three different enclosures in the third section; I placed Megalosaurus, Metriacanthosaurus, and Albertosaurus separately. Those can be viewed from the viewing platforms and dome viewing galleries.
In the fourth section, I did combinations:
- First is the Morrison Formation exhibit: Ceratosaurus and Allosaurus
- Second is the abelisaurs: Majungasaurus and Carnotaurus
- Third is the carcharodontosaurs: Acrocanthosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus
The fifth section is the Early Cretaceous land piscivores:
- The first enclosure contains Suchomimus and Baryonyx whereas the second one has Spinosaurus
- Cearadactylus can be viewed from the aviary viewing gallery and the log viewing gallery.
Unlike last time, I added the following species even though they did not appear in the original novels, the
Jurassic Park film trilogy,
Jurassic Park: The Game,
Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis, along with even
Jurassic World: Evolution 2's first two levels of Chaos Theory and the official challenge modes based on the
Jurassic Park film trilogy:
- Plesiosaurus
- Styxosaurus
- Kronosaurus
- Giganotosaurus
- Mosasaurus
The reason for doing so is to make a loose tie to a fantasy world that I am making for a new story.
A note to other players is that they can do whatever they like when making their own Jurassic-Park-type parks.
Jurassic Coast is the sixth section as there is an aviary housing Dimorphodon and a lagoon housing Plesiosaurus.
I informally called the seventh section the Late Cretaceous North American coast due to the following attractions:
- An aviary housing Geosternbergia and Pteranodon
- Two different lagoons: one housing Styxosaurus and the other had Tylosaurus. Like with every marine reptile, the Tylosaurus can be viewed from the lagoon viewing stand and the lagoon viewing dome.
The last section contained four different carnivores:
- Tyrannosaurus Rex and Giganotosaurus being kept in separate enclosures.
- Kronosaurus and Mosasaurus kept in separate lagoons.
