What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

I love the enclosure, the mud wall is very well done! Also, what is that ground texture? I asume that is made out of building pieces?

I assume it's the mud floor from the african pieces, but I'm super curious now if I'm right. I agree it looks super awesome but goooosh, so much tedious work!
Swjos is right, those are African mud pieces. I wanted to achieve a more red-ish ground colour like the image below and since there is no terrain tool selector I had to go with that. Ngl it was some tedious work 😅

Totally get that. :ROFLMAO: I also kinda wish vet research wasn't linked to enrichment items, but that's really nit picking.

I plan to just mindlessly do all the building research without animals in sandbox zoo, then start building. And if I feel like it, I can turn on money and CC then to have a somewhat realistic game play. (I don't see researching shops and building items as realistic, that's why I would like to skip that part and don't spend money on it)
I switched it back off in the end as I wanted to use the coach spawners at the entrance and just couldn't visualise it without them, and I know the chances of me going back to fix it are pretty slim. See also naked buildings. Oh well. I still hope they'll introduce a system where you have to research the more popular animals before you can use them. That would definitely be worth playing.

Finished with my first wetlands animal build! The only thing possibly missing is a sign right now, but I might do that at a later stage. Anyway, here's the overview build: The capybaras have access to two indoor areas, as well as a comfy outdoor area that the guests can access through a viewing area in the middle of the complex. More images are hidden between the spoiler tags below. Credit for the general layout idea of the build has to go to DanXG's Komodo Dragon Build, which I liked so much that I tried to do something similar for these very special animals. But I still can't do roofs no matter what. They always look horrible if I try to do custom ones.

The indoor area on the left (which is where I shared the WIP picture yesterday):

AAAAH they're breeding like crazy! Capybaras are our next tortoises, it seems.

The second indoor area in the building on the right, with some sleeping chambers that according to the heatmap they can access, but I haven't seen them do so unfortunately:

The outdoor area with a viewing area in the middle. Not entirely happy with the foliage yet, and I completely forgot that they could dive in the game, so I might look into giving them more deep water in the future.

Btw, does anyone play with the filters and/or vignettes activated? I'm ashamed to admit that after 1,000 hours in the game, today was the first time I discovered them, mostly by chance when I started to casually wonder what the buttons next to the camera mode mean. The desert filter makes everything look so much warmer and more inviting, especially when you're playing on a temperate map.

There are filters? Totally new to me, thanks for mentioning!

Oh yes, there's so much that can be done with that. You can have black and white settings, which works really well if you want a historical feel to the photos, "night vision" settings, for lack of a better term, but like with night vision goggles. Quite a few others as well.

I made an Alpine Ibex habitat in Murmeldorf and worked around it a bit. Also planned in the Capybaras. Here and there on the round about I accidentally left some way too huge spots, but that'll make it easier to add suitable animals down the line, if we get any more. (Hey there, Tanuki! <3 Please, Frontier!)

Well, I'd planned to work on Jamestown Zoo tonight, but it appears there is a problem with the file. The game continues to crash on it, and only on that zoo (even older saves or trying to open as sandbox). I'm going to submit a ticket but I won't deny I'm fairly bummed out about it. It is the zoo I am most proud of and have spent the most time on. Fingers crossed it will eventually work again though.

Eh after all that wasn't in the mood to really play anymore tonight lol. I did shuffle a few of my otters and capybaras into quarantine in other various zoos, so they're at least out of my trade market, and will work on their habitats when I'm in a better mood.

The third animal form the wetlands pack is fully researched and enjoying their new habitat, which is next to the hippopotamus (I'm still hopelessly wishing for the space requirements for hippos to be lowered...). I really like how the Nile lechwe looks.

I’m sorry you’ve had this happen too! I hope that a patch update will fix it eventually or I’ll be sad. If it wasn’t that particular zoo it wouldn’t bother me as much, but it’s been my main zoo I’ve worked on since the summer.

will just have to wait and hope. I’ve left other zoo/ to the side before, so if it’s even a few months I’ll be alright. I just hope I haven’t lost it completely

These trees are the Bee's knees - where have these root buttresses been all of my life - this is the most brilliant feature yet - Please can we have more buttress goodness )bigger perhaps( and bog and wetland decay and different coloured mangrove roots - the colourings and textures on the Bayou Swamp Cypress are incredible - especially the mussels and tidal crustacean residue - brilliant to whomever crafted this wonderful detail and the texturing of the actual wood - so realistic, thank you Frontier :) :D🍀

There are some incredible smaller Swamp Cypresses in a lake up here on my mountain and they belong to an incredible group of artists living on this fully maxxed out art property - they staggered me when I saw them the first time not long ago and these are really close - minus freshwater barnacles - and they sit in the water just off the shore of the lake and hug it with their amazing twisted roots and structures; and all of the amazing aerial roots and bark are true works of art like your version.

Did you use any Mods in that Zoo? Maybe you need to wait for a updated Version or remove them if that's the Case
