What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

I finished the entrance plaza and some facilities. I've been building a lot in the last days, more than ever I'd say, although I haven't used any of the Aquatic pack yet (and don't plan to do so). The zoo is shaping up now that the first exhibits have been built.
I might do the shop interior in the future but right now I can't be bothered tbh.

Wow, I really love your Enclosures. That Mining Stuff reminds me of the Western Adventure Area in one of my old Zoos.

I like the Idea of giving the Tortoise a Area with Pebbles trough using a Piece of Path (at least I assume it's a Path). I'm not completely sure, do Tortoises use Gastroliths?

I started an attempt at a wolf habitat this morning. It's annoying because I know exactly how I want it to look, and I've done a nearly identical concept in the past, but for some forsaken reason it isn't working this time. The plan is to have a ground-level section that goes up to a raised section where there will be a cave. Guest viewing will be both at the bottom and the top, with the top then spreading out into another part of the zoo at a higher elevation (I'll be using this elevation throughout the zoo's periphery, and also using it eventually for the penguins/seals underwater viewing).

I have a handful of ideas I want to do - this mountain area for wolves/Himalayan brown bears (because there's no Eurasian brown bear (not that I'm complaining, certainly not desperate for another brown bear) my "lore" is that the exhibit used to be for more local bears) which will also transition into an area for red pandas/snow leopards/Japanese macaques
- The "aquatic" section for seals/penguins.
- A South American area for giant anteaters, capuchins, tapir, jaguar, and giant otters.
- A Living Fossils tropical house for reptiles, exhibit animals, and cassowaries (maybe peafowl too - this is really where the green peafowl would be nice to have, though).
- And of course the quintessential African section.

Getting it laid out in my head is proving challenging, but it's fun to have some goals in the game again.

So I didn't play today (too tired), but I just noticed that the game is reduced on Steam atm and I decided to gift myself the Arctic Pack which was the only one I hadn't bought yet. I mean, now that we have seals and penguins, that is justified, isn't it? I'm thinking of starting a zoo in a colder biome soon, because I can't really keep seals and penguins in my tropical parc. I has been on my mind for a while and I can't wait for the weekend. Let's see how my computer likes that :D

That's a nice gift for yourself! I like the reindeer and the Dall sheep, I use them in all my "cold" zoos. I use very often the Artic wood pieces too. And if you want a big challenge, try the polar bear :ROFLMAO:

(Yeah, I'm quite good at gifting myself!) I know about the polar bears  One reason why I was hesitating to buy this pack! But indeed, the wooden building pieces are so beautiful and the animals have become a lot more interesting now that they can be combined with the aquatic ones.

The Polar Bear is no Challenge. The only Challenges are to let the Enclosure look good and maybe building it in a Way that it at least looks slightly normal. It's so sad what they did with the Polar Bear 😔

Don't get me wrong, I love polar bears, as you can imagine with my profile pic, and I am using them on the game. I like my last habitat with some bridges and areas that can only be seen from the gondola. However, building such big habitats is definitely a challenge. I usually manage to create a decent habitat, but as soon as a baby comes in, it becomes too small again.

For once, it might come in handy that I always overestimate the size of the habitats when building :D
Believe me. It's not the same with Polar Bears. I think it's even bigger than my Elephant Enclosure and that's already extremely big. I bet you won't get it big enough at the first try

Oh, I had read so many bad comments about this that when I was creating my first polar bear habitat a couple months ago, I did a huge habitat with 14000 sq meters of land and 8000 of water. I guess I must be one of the few people who had to reduce the size of his polar bear habitat 😂😂

I know what you mean ;) But at least I won't have to worry about it being too big, then!
(Edit: Or, well - we're gonna see!)

Purchased Aquatic pack today (not used yet, bought all the others in one recently) but started my sunkle temple/indiana Jones inspired zoo today, quite pleased for my 1st attempt...Did laugh when I noticed I'd accidently made the Gorilla habitat in the rough shape of a Gorilla's head lol (Last pic)

Built a beautiful Llama Enclosure today and joked with a Friend about them being Orcas and he got mad at me for letting People go into the Killer Whale Enclosure 😂

The End Part of the new Metal Fence is great for creating custom Petting Zoo Gates

Looks great. Luckily I'm also getting better at building even though I wasn't able to play for a relatively long Time

The inclusion of the gravel path was for aesthetic reasons, really. But now that you mention it, many reptiles including chelonians (turtles/tortoises) use these gastroliths. I'm not sure if the species in-game do so, though.

Didn't do much the days... had some trouble with my Guinea Pig

But today evening i hope i had time to play. Planned is the habitat for the indian elephants. I started with the Indoor Stable for the females and a separate area for the male. The outdoor area looks a bit like the one in my lokal zoo (Hannover Zoo). When I'm done, i will show you :)

@random goat I love how you do the Turtle Habitat. I wish we had a Terrain Brush for the Pepples and both Asphalt colors!

Can't wait to see this. I'm starting to finally get more creative with Roofs but I think a Roof for a big Building would still cause Problems for me, so it's always great to see what others build.

This would be so great. Especially for Underwater Areas

I wanted to play around with the new animals and started the scenario from the Arctic pack (hit me right in the feels, I love Norway, the map of this is so beautiful!). After admiring the dall sheep and the reindeer, I added the polar bear. I must say that all those animal models are quite amazingly done. And @Urufu1997, I seem to belong to those people who indeed built the habitat for the polar bears too large at first attempt :D But I didn't care about the looks of the habitat today. What is really hard I think is to make it interesting and nicely detailed with that size.

Tomorrow, I'll finally play around with the penguins and seals :)

Wow, wouldnt've expected that

I would recommend to use a Piece of Wall or something else that's 4m high before you design the Underwater Terrain. In my Seal Enclosure the Water was only a few Centimeters too shallow and they did only have 17% Happiness because it wasn't deep enough. I'm excited about the other new Animals but this Time I've started a Zoo with a specific Theme and want to only use Animals that fit into this Theme until the Zoo is relatively big, so it will take some Time for me to see the other Animals
