What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

I just completed an Amur Leopard habitat, complete with a functioning overpass. I took a lot of inspiration from real life leopard habitats in zoos, particularly with the fencing and the trees leaning against each other. I'll admit it maybe looks a little rough around the edges, but when I get around to adding pathing and decorative foliage and whatnot, the whole thing will look a lot nicer.

Oh that's really cool! Were I doing a faithful recreation I would definitely use that, but I'm mostly just using the zoo's layout. I actually planned on turning that area into a sort of tropical house with sloths, butterflies, and various exhibits.

Great job, though. I actually did look at that and wonder how I would go about recreating it before I changed my mind on what to do with it.

On that note, I actually wanted to play today after visiting Orana Wildlife Park, but the scroll wheel on my mouse is buggered which makes it impossible to navigate the game map (particularly in terms of rotation). So that's a bust until I can get a new mouse on payday.
Thanks.... Had to guess a fair bit of the back of the building because I couldn't find any good images of it (though i did find a couple of interior images), but i think it's pretty close to how it looked before the back part was demolished. I built it for my (still under construction) version of Beaumaris (Hobart) zoo, circa 1938 (when it closed). There used to be an Elephant house there, but were zero photos or descriptions that i could find, so i stole Wellington's on the basis that its a similar era and from a close(ish) region (at least culturally). It's a bit tricky to place the paths right in the blueprint, but i didn't really build it to share (though i can provide instructions).

Sorry to hear about your mouse - issues... It's a pain when that kinda thing happens!

Nice job with the leopard habitat! I like the bridge.

I'm working on a leopard habitat too, though I'm taking a different tack with it and set mine up as a gully with a sunken viewing area down on river level and and one up top and using one-way glass for viewing. I got the idea from a tiger habitat I saw years ago at a real zoo.

Wish I knew how to make their feeding plates look a bit more realistic!

So, last night I might have build one of the best habitats I ever build. Pretty chuffed. It's a Giant Panda habitat in Moonstone. I put most of the pics into the spoiler for you guys, except for one, because this is very picture heavy and I don't want to kill your phone in case you are on mobile data right now.

Next up will be the Japanese Macaque habitat. Can't wait to get to it!

Thank you 😊 The overpass over the visitor path was a spontanous idea and now I have to try one day if it actually works with guests in the zoo or if they run away screaming 😅
Two things:

1. Glad that you're getting a bunch of inspiration

B. If done correctly, I'm sure the guests won't run off. I've made habitats where dangerous animals will sleep in a shelter above guests while the guests are underneath, observing them another part of their habitat. Basically, as long as the animal can't technically reach a guests, it should be a-ok
