What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Built an American food truck for Monsieur Frites, so I don’t have to stick with the european one. It’s on the workshop for download under my account (Scarab440)

Unfortunately the screenshot is too large for some reason. Does anyone know how to fix it?

I don't know if it's late, but most of the times the screenshots are made in .png which is too heavy, so it's as easy as change the image to .jpg and that should work in the forum.

My laptop repair didn't last long and the computer is having problems again. I'm afraid I won't be able to pay the game in a long time 😭😭.

Ouch, let's hope it gets well soon 🤕

Done this over last few days, my first proper build (only 60 hours in). Its not got the exhibits in it yet as its part of a bigger building I'm blue printing for my zoo. Has space for 4 exhibits. I'm happy with it at least.

I’m thinking of starting a new zoo with a desert theme.

Oasis Sands Zoo

Is in a desert, namely North African

Contains the following sections

Scales of the sands reptile house

Desert horned viper

Gila monster

Blue-tongued skink

Death adders

Aldabra Tortoise

Dwarf Caiman

Canyon Alley

Cougar

Gray Wolf

Armadillo

Pronghorn

Bison

Nile Trail

Cheetah

Porcupine

Ostrich

Springbok

Meerkat

Black Rhino

Persian Pass

Caracal

Sand Cat

Dromedary

Fennec Fox

Oryx

Outback Gardens

Emu

Red Kangaroo

Red-necked Wallaby

Lore:

Founded by zoologist Pete Viper in 1955 as a wildlife rehabilitation center, just for native species to North Africa.

Expanded and in 1963 started taking in rescues internationally

Grew to the point where he allowed visitors in and gained AZA accreditation in 1992

Pete passed away from old age at 95 years old in 1986

Now, in 2023, it is a rehabilitation center and zoo, contributing to conservation efforts across the globe and teaching people about the desert ecosystems

Are those custom backgrounds? They look really nice and fit very well.
Thanks! Yes, I like to mix some custom images for the backgrounds with the default in-game 3d walls. It's fun to change the look of the terrariums to avoid them feeling repetitive.

Today I’m about to relocate the leopards, aiming to make a cat only area in the zoo. Will be split in to habitats, as they can hold only one pair of adults.
If you play sandbox, will you be allowed to have more predators in one habitat? I know it’s realistic but annoying that some animals are restricted to just one family.

Yes you can disable animal fighting and herd sizes in sandbox. It's in the sandbox settings. It actually annoys me you have to disable these settings to have realistic tiger habitats which can easily be up to 5 females.

I had a dream last night where they announced a temperate pack that included the following:

Owl
Jaguarundi
Tree Kangaroo
Fisher
Gray Fox

It’s weird cuz half of those aren’t even temperate.

Then theres a feature where if you cut down a tree there’s a chance Bigfoot will chase you with a chainsaw

And the challenbe Mode wasn’t a zoo, but your in a broken kayak and have to get out of the rapids before it’s too late.

Working on my premiere zoo, Jamestown Zoo. Working on animal maintenance (releasing mature animals etc) and sprucing up some habitats that have just the bare minimum right now - Wombat, Emu, Wallaby, Maned Wolf, Red River Hog, and now the Porcupine. Definitely a lot to do! Also looking at potential additional habitats and making sure I have room I can work with in my colder section for the Wolverines, South American section for the Spectacled Bear and in my Oceania section for the Tasmanian Devil and Kiwi. Not that we'll get them for sure, but I think the Wolverine, Kiwi and Devil will come at some point, and I hope for the Spectacled Bear. They're really the last habitat animals I can see me adding in this zoo which will bring it to over 60 species.
