Really hope you get them!
I doubt that their chances are that bad, its a cute memey animal, thats basicly why we got the quokka so if we should ever get a mountain pack or something similar id bet on their appearanceThanks alot! I guess, the odds are non-existent we'll get them. Still I hope you're right and there is a chance.![]()
Impressive work! Well done.I had fun (and a lot of struggles) doing landscaping/gardening today.

There we have it again, another example of why regional representation is important, with the fact of only 3 exhibits in this zoo being basegame.Should do an update on what I've been up to in PZ for the past week!
I haven't been able to get back into PZ for a while, so to do something different I decided to do the Oceania Pack scenario. I don't usually play scenarios, but given I've done the Australia Pack timed scenario previously, I thought I might as well do the one for the other mecore pack and win that golden kiwi statue. I completed the scenario over two nights of gameplay, and it was good fun, but it reinvigorated my interest in playing PZ in a way I didn't expect.

Since the Oceania Pack released I've only been playing sandbox with aging turned off, and so I'd never actually bred Tasmanian devils before. I'd heard it was hard thanks to their extremely short lifespans by PZ standards and them being classed as a species that's "difficult" to breed in the Zoopedia, but it was still something I wanted to try sometime but hadn't gotten around to. This scenario gave me the opportunity to, and the four adults I adopted produced two litters before sadly passing away. It instantly made me want to set up a new franchise zoo for breeding devils, taking on the challenges of producing imps in PZ (yes, baby devils are called either imps or joeys) and maintaining a healthy captive breeding population.

sidenote: it's really funny how the temperate map means it still snows in the Oceania Pack scenario, it looks so bizarre with the tropical palm trees and stereotypical Polynesian architecture lol
Since then I've been chipping away at getting the Devil Conservation Centre up and running, and below is a map showing how it has been progressing so far. Its just reaching the point now where I don't have to constantly worry about low finances and the zoo is making enough money for me to spend a bit more recklessly. Its designed as a small basic wildlife park in temperate Australia with a particular focus on Tasmanian devils, with two devil habitats at the entrance, probably another one or two public devil habitats further towards the back of the zoo, and then the whole backstage breeding complex, which has yet to be built at this stage.

It's been a slow start to the devil breeding program so far - for a while the devils bonded and attempted to mate but did not end up producing offspring, and I also had a female who had young on the way but then ended up dying of old age before they were due (currently 2 of the 5 original devils I adopted for the zoo are deceased, and the other three are all nearing the end of their lifespan). Nonetheless, two small litters have been produced, with three imps in total, the small beginnings of what will hopefully end up being a successful breeding program.

To get the foundations of the zoo down, I currently plan to build another one or two devil enclosures, a little penguin habitat, a food court, and potentially a small tropical building for cassowaries (with a space left for tree kangaroos, no particular reason). After that's all down, then I'll slowly work on prettying up and improving the zoo while setting up the backstage breeding for the devils. My long-term goal is being able to consistently provide good-quality Tasmanian devils to the franchise market, given I haven't seen a single one so far that wasn't an autogenerated Frontier Zoo animal.

What do you mean? Also dromedarys when?
Dromedarys are not just invasive in the australia outback but also common place in smaller australian zoos afaik so theyd fit the project pretty goodWhat do you mean?![]()
Me patiently waiting for a wild turkey, wood duck, river otter, and American black bear so I can make my local regional zoosThere we have it again, another example of why regional representation is important, with the fact of only 3 exhibits in this zoo being basegame.
We really got far and thank god that since last autum oceanian zoos arnt just possible but actually able to be big enough to reasonably represent a small local zoo.
Still 2-3 more animals would be very much appreciated but atleast theres the option now to have an actual small zoo that has the choice to not use every single local animal to make it to a decent size.
Also dromedarys when?
In terms of invasive species I was actually originally considering fallow deer and maybe even some domestics like sheep and alpacas, all of which are pretty common in zoos of this size, but aside from them feeling kinda out of place compared to the rest of the zoo's animals I just don't think I'll have the space for them! The zoo is built on the small island Oceania map and I wanna save most of the northern half for backstage stuff, so I've only got a limited remaining area to expand to and still have space to do scenery and stuff. Once the final pack is out and the full Oceania roster for PZ1 is known I'm planning to do a big higher-budget Australian wildlife park build in sandbox, and there I might have dromedaries and water buffalo featured as two of Australia's most iconic invasive species (also educating guests on the damage that they and other introduced mammals cause). Also dromedarys when?
