What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

I actually did this yesterday and didn't get round to posting, but here's a wild boar habitat I made. Building for the pigs in this game is a nice breather as most of their exhibit boils down to just a lot of mud. (and considering one of the creatures in my list of next 5 animals I'm gonna build for is the polar bear, I'm gonna need as much ease with upcoming habitats as possible)

Today I created my first ever (profitable) franchise zoo, after mostly toying with tutorial and sandbox for training. It's still an ugly mess especially when you zoom out because I still need some training with the game's various tools, but still I'm quite happy with what I've managed to do. I like to do themed zoos so this one is about birds, I don't have a lot to work with as I still don't have most of the doc's (six species of birds in total and not much in terms of decorations and gift shop items) but it's still for training so it's ok. I've created 4 habitats so far, greater flamingo, Indian peawfowl, Japanese cranes and king penguins, which can all be walked through, I only have the Southern cassowaries and common ostriches left to do but with the ostriches I think I will "cheat" and introduce some African mammals for cohabitation. I may have surround their habitat with a full African wing. I'm also considering closing the Japanese cranes habitat to visitors and grouping them with Japanese macaques, because my poor elongated babies regularly suffer from stress despite their zoopedia article saying they're okay with it.

Finally properly started on my aquarium, starting on the interior that is. I think i mentioned it in the "what do you wanna do in pz" threat that i was pretty inspired by the krokipark at haus des meeres, so i tryed to more or less recreate the idea. Ofcourse working with the limitations of the gargantuan and super inflexible sloth exhibit was a big pain. And to be honest im still debating on throwing the sloth out and just using an egg pieces one instead so i dont have to deal with this clunky thing fighting me about what i actually wanna build haha.

After building and releasing True Blue Zoo, I've moved on to Wanyana Park, a zoo in Africa where my goal is to make my 1st ever, proper drive-through safari.
The Zoo has only African species so far, including:
  • African spurred tortoises
  • Aardvarks
  • Crested porcupines
  • Somali donkeys
  • Domestic donkeys
  • Dik-diks
  • Springboks
  • Fennec foxes
  • Greater flamingos
  • All 4 lemur species
  • Fossas
I'm in a bit of a slump. I kinda wanna do the baboons next, and save the grand safari for last. But what do y'all suggest?

Just some random WIP pictures of my zoo.

And the new Warthog enclosure that'll release this week, perfectly complimenting the Red River Hogs enclosure next door.
Ever since I lost the zoo I wanted to finish this section of the zoo with the Quokkas and Penguin House and with one more enclosure, it will finally be done! 😁
