What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Started to work on the Peafowl Enclosure in my Wildpark. I'm trying to create a Peafowl Show in there but it will probably be a bit disappointing considering there aren't many Possibilities and that the Educator can't even throw Food on Top of a Platform (it just falls through).
For the first Time ever I saw a female Peafowl showcasing her Tail Feathers. I didn't even know they are able to do this. Could it be that this is one of those special Animal Talk Animations of which I never saw a single one? Might there even be a Way to somehow trigger this Behavior with the currently available Game Mechanics to use it in the Show?

While I was busy expanding the zoo, my African elephants were busy expanding their family and now I have 7 elephants, so I decided to double the size of their habitat. The new part is on the other side of a backstage road, so I created a bridge to join the new and the old parts of the habitat. This way, the bridge could be closed and have two separated habitats if needed. The expansion of the habitat is on the desert area that I'm buidling now, so it fits well.

Did some more work on my Queensland zoo over the last two days, bringing in a picnic area and the Mandrills I was contemplating adding earlier.

I think in a realistic scenario the Mandrills would easily be able to leap across the moat, but it does the job here so I'm not too fussed. Obviously the backstage building is once again incomplete (I really need to think up what sort of style I want for them).

Given I had to squeeze this in against the edge of the map, I'm happy I was able to mostly succeed in the illusion that it's on the edge of a vast rainforest - from the guest's point of view at least. Building still needs a bit of work (making buildings isn't my strong suit of that wasn't already clear), and the area covered in dirt at the back will be foliated eventually.

A bit of location-appropriate signage, helping to ground the zoo.

Additionally, I also created two custom infoboards for the Pygmy Hippo and Bongo, which I've provided below in case anyone wants to use them. I'll do the Mandrill when I have the time and include that in my next update, as well as any additional animals I add to the zoo.

As for what's next, I'm planning to add in the Dhole as the next habitat, and then after that I might get right onto the Australia section (complete with a cassowary hospital and rehabilitation centre).

Very cool. I like the signs, and I'm gonna have to make new ones for my zoos

Looks absolutely amazing

I am back in buissness baby! And with buissness i mean crapping all over my plans and reworking my South American section for the 80ths time.
There are not many constants in this world, but im glad that the fact that im overthinking and rearanging + not ending my work on SA everytime i start the game has lead to it probably being my best/best thought out area of my zoo.
But what did i actually do you might ask?
Remember that big ugly empty spot between the taiga and the Southamerican part of my zoo?
Once lamas were suppoused to go in there, but after building them were an implied habitat for capybara was meant to be i decided i split the area into two and dedicate one side to the taiga and one to the rainforest, with dallsheep and bairds tapir as the inhabitants in question.
Today i pretty much finished one viewing into the dallsheep, as well as building a little plaza with food and drinks, the lovely "Nordimbiss".
The name is still work in progress, so if you have a good idear, tell me.
Starting of an overview over the area. We ignore the horrible sight of my more then unfinished snowleopard habitat and watch only the upper parts. The only thing thats really finished besides the area on the top right i did today is the reindeer habitat in the middle. Funfact, that was the first habitat i posted pictures in the forum so back to the roots of being competent i guess.
To the left i also did some work and cut of a bit of the polarbear habitat that will be turned into an arctic wolf exhibit.
dallsheep.jpeg

After moving up over the grey seal habitat we have the choice to either enjoy a bit more of the rustic northern charm of the "Nordimbiss" or if we want to dive down towards the underwater viewing of the greyseals and the attached tropical southamerica tunnel.
dallsheep 2 .jpeg

This is the first of 4 planned viewing spots for the dallsheep, this one being from the nordic plaza while enjoying yoursnack, i would also imagine that you could maybe be able to buy some food for the sheep here, with me parshly regretting to not have left any space for the reindeer.
The other 3 viewings will be one next to the tunnel, one over the water of the grey seals for a little panorama and one from the main pathway.
dallsheep 3.jpeg

The plaza itself was build around a mighty elmtree in the middle. Besides toilets and some shops there are also the staffentrances to the stables of the seals, reindeer, dallsheep and also behind the little fence the way along behind the arctic wolfs and polarbears, acessing there specific shelters. If i have the time and motivation i will turn the area behind the plaza and the thouse two habitats into a bigger staff area with warehouses and staff parking, as well as an entry for supply trucks.

"Nordimbiss"
😂 This reminds me of Dr. Evil when he says "Laser"
Also the Dall Sheep Enclosure looks nice. Just not sure if it would be secure enough.

Today I'm currently expanding the Lemur species and subspecies list ingame, through, specific means. Hoping to add about 15 new species/subspecies with my buddies :)
Even though I don't use any Mods, I hope I'll see a Mod of my favorite Lemur soon. I enjoy watching the Mod Showcase Videos🙂

Lets just hope dallsheep are as stupid as their domestic cousin and it will be xd
And yes ofcourse my mustache is allready quite twirlled up with evil energy, ready to find new excuses to not work on my pathetic snowleopard enclosure and do something else when ever i can, with a 9/10 chance it will be in or near southamerica

Day 1

On the 1st day I have build the first enclosure for ... well? ...correctly flamingos. 3 female and 3 male animals have moved in.

Then I let the game run a little to see how the visitors find 6 flamingos. they were well received. I quickly started planning a second enclosure, this time for saltys. 2 crocodiles moved in and the visitors were almost overjoyed.

To replenish my account a bit, i bought three beetles.
This ends the 1st day

(oh the only two things i turned out is animal stress and the plant thing)

This Park looks really nice. The Enclosures look so Beach like🙂
Maybe next (if it is possible) a Beach themed Enclosure for Giant Otters with a Beach Ball and Deck Chairs if you want to keep that Design Direction. I'm really excited to see more

Nothing happend here today, but after spending all day working on a math project that was due till in half an hour i finally spend some time in planet zoo!
It might have been just half an hour, but having not enough time for a bigger project i finally revisited my rhino habitat! Since 2 months all there was is an empty wasteland, but today they got some rock and mud! Exciting

that pathwork is amazing btw

And im back again with more rhino stuff. Im honestly kinda glad that i neglected it in the past, as i dont really feel like redesigning my old habitats, but as this was completly empty and the only thing finished were the viewing galleries, that im honestly quite proud of it was just a really fun time to decorate it and think about how to make a rhino habitat realistic looking but still fun to look at.
I settled for a rocky look, protecting trees and plants from the rhinos and also giving them some dead wood to scratch on.

I start with the worst looking one, the westside that will probably still see some work, as im not nearly done with the planting up there. On the right is the rhino pavilion, the first thing that i build and were really, really proud of. Its actually the reason why this habitat exists, as i wanted to build something with a viewing platform from a hill, and figured rhinos or elephants would be the best candidates, settling for the rhino in the end. Theres a pathway stretching all along the rhino habitat, but only at some places the rhinos are actually viewable because of the plants.
rhino.jpeg

This shot is taken from the lower viewpoint, a little asian style shed for rainy wheather, that also hides the entry to a staff path, connecting the rhino house, japanese macaces and dholes. It shows a nice long stretch of the habitat, with a feeder and a sprinkler to ensure that the rhinos actually come to the front. In the background is the still horrendous slowleopards habitat, that i really should tackle next. Up there is also a viewpoint, being in the middle of the rhino, brownbear and slowleopard habitat.

rhino 2.jpeg

Now we are looking out of the rhino pavilion with a nice overview of the habitat and the dholes behind. The rocks nicly cover up the in the ground sunken staffpath while the rhinos draw lots of attention on their own anyways. From here its also quite obvious that the rhino house is unfinished, but we will get there at one point anyways.
To the left is also a nice view over the rest of the asian area, the macaces in particular.
rhino 3.jpeg

And for the final shot we see the rhinos over the bushes from right outside the pavilion. I think it came thogether really nicly and the way you watch over and through the plantwork really adds to the experience.
rhino 4.jpeg
But that was it for the rhinos for now.
My plans going forward are after having such a pleasant time with them to finish up and redo some of the older habitats, most prominently the wolfs and the brownbears need to be finished up with a few touches, the polarbears really need some work (i didnt even finish their fence and viewing galleries and have some ugly red workin progress fence instead at one point) and finally putting work into the actual inside of the leopard habitat, so that i dont need to be ashamed anymore.
