After seeing the 3 great habitats i build for other people, i looked back onto my unfinished giraffes and was like "wait a minute, why is their stuff way cooler then mine?"
So now i spend over 2 hours working on the first things i build in the zoo, the giraffes and the entrance.
After finishing most of the interior of the giraffes, i took it on me to make the building look less boring and more cool.
I took some inspiration of the Giraffehouse in the zoo berlin with its indian themes and thought "yeah lets do that".
But then i learned some not so great things, mainly that most of the indian piece set is not flexicolor, aka they wont mash well with the base thats already their. I didnt want to redo the whoule thing, as i liked the interior and a real palast fealt wrong, wanting more of a budget style facade, that looks good and charming.
It might not be finished yet, with atleast the roof recieving some love later, because that little crossing between wall and roof tiles just looks empty and ugly, but im way more happy with it then the barren brickhouse it was before, and i bet the giraffes like it too
I also started some work detailing their outdoor habitat from back to front, but that will still need a lot of work and i doubt that i will finish it today.
After having licked some blood with being rather happy with the giraffe house, i put my view onto improving the entrance a bit, this shot is of the right building, that hasnt gotten any changes, with only the flowers and statues i did on the first day of the zoo making it look like more then a brick box.
The otherside meanwhile got experimented and expanded on, to quite some sucess i would say.
Sadly thouse cool beams from the classic theme arent recolorable, but im very happy with the sign ive done for my Zoo. I also really like the way i connected brick and roof and think i will do that for the giraffe house too. Its still a bit janky, but when i figured out how to make the corners pretty i cant wait to put it on the other entrance building and the G house. If you guys have any idears how to do that or improve the look of the building in general without completly redoing it, pls tell me as i really suck at designing buildings, atleast for now. Thx for listening to my ramblings as allways, Julian out
