What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Threw together a binturong habitat. I wanted it to look like it was a quick installation. I'm not super happy with it, but I kind of rushed it. It's December, so super hot out (I hate the summer), and my laptop was way too hot to play today. I just wanted to do something though. When it cools down later or maybe tomorrow I'll probably do it over.

Rather than premaking my caracal habitats, I wound up doing an okapi habitat next door to the meerkats. It's funny, I really adore okapi, but I rarely put them in my zoos. It's a bummer they were made out of the zebra rig instead of the giraffe rig, though; it makes them move awkwardly. Anyway, because they're super shy, there's only one viewpoint, and it requires going off the track a little. There's a single date palm at the top to mark where it is; fun fact, date palms can actually grow in temperate environments. That probably doesn't apply to the middle of Scotland where this zoo is located, but oh well. 😅

You know what they say...new DLC, new zoo. :D

My current project Mwitu ZOO (which, according to Google, should mean "wild" in Swahili). A small zoo in tropical Africa with dedicated sections - SA and Oceania. I really want to build for the maned wolf and the emu.

So far I have...not much. I've started building for the pygmy hippo. Hopefully will have something substantial to show soon.

I build a new Cape Dutch style building for in my South-African zoo. Just love this style! And again, Frontier please make this roof flexicolor!!! Please!!!

Great!I l once also built buildings with the Dutch Cape style but those were small fishermen huts (pictures must be somewhere in this thread) but I like your version more, it looks so realistic.

What about using the twilight roof panels , those are colorable with several example of cape Dutch architecture using older style slate roofing
The buildings I like don't have that type of roof. Anyway I think it is possible that Frontier makes it flexicolor or maybe even adds the perfect roof. If not I might use the Twilight roof panels..

Thought it was worth mentioning, of course the thatch style roof would be so much better if it was flexicolor. There are classic farm houses where im from with a much darker thatch aswell although not near black like I'm seeing looking at cape Dutch examples

Pretty much just a weathered thatch set could be great, picture is one of the more uh cleaner examples of Scottish thatch roofs. However palm thatch is pretty close to the more modern examples I can find so in theory I could make my own Scottish thatch house using palm thatch but I can't seem to find cape Dutch using lighter colored thatch which is a shame
