What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

I built an exhibit of California sea lions and black footed penguins using some workshop components and am currently about 75% complete.

Well well, im back and about half of the outdoor part of my siamang habitat is done. They share the space with a small herd of fallow deer, 3 peafowl and atleast for now a little horde of lar gibbons cause i was to lazy to pull them out (yet). Might do that later if i need another gibbon for another spot though.

While i also was skeptical of the railings at first, i gotta say they really dont look that bad, they are really fun to place and the animals look great using them.
Would the habitat look better without the railings? Perhaps
Would it be less fun to look at without monkey action? Defenetly

Also a nice shot of a bunch of animals just chilling together.

Overall i gotta say, the deer and the monkeys make for a really fun pairing as they make both the ground and the sky quite the looker. They also add quite nice in vibe as the fallow deer and peafowl are elegant and serene, while the gibbons are little bringers of chaos, screams and lots of gremlin energy.

Well well well, guess whos it again?
Got another good session in today between church and my little bros bday celebration, during which i showed him my zoo.
According to him, my best habitats are the gorillas, especally thd climbing framd, the finished part of the bongo, waterbuffalo and capybara enclosure and the otters as the only finished one with this as his favorive shot of the zoo, walking along the bridge from the otters towards the view of the gorillas was my best work in his opinion and im enclined to agree..

But besides showing him my zoo he also got to wish for some animals to be put in.
He really, really, really liked the exhibit animals and because i had an empty shot with an ugly expansion of the armadillo enclosure i started to work on two exhibits, while his habitat animal wish of komodo dragon now is in the back of my head for a future reptile house or similar.
I spend agonisingly long just trying to place the exhibits in a way that didnt suck but once i was happy with that building was surprisingly smooth and lets just say im proud of it.

Still a bit rough around the edges with maybe some more foliage and defenetly some implied signage being needed for the pitcher plant, raflesia and the exhibit animals themselfs, who im not gonna mention now as a challange if you can spot them. I choose one thats imo relativly good on the visibility side and so far im not dissapointed.
The right side and back drop in the exhibit itself are propaply gonna be the content of on of my next sessions.

I had a surprising amount of fun, with propaply the most covering the wall running through the right side of the tank, whose end i could conveniently cover with the tree in the middle.
It really reminded me of my faux exhibits in my old zoo and how much fun i had building the back wall and while it is very finicky, its also very satisfying as you normaly dont really get to working in such detail. I also luckily had one of the animals spawn right next to it, so i could activly work around the spawnpoint to not cover it, making it looks surprisingly "useable". I wish there was a function to highlight all spawn points, which while a bit immersion breaking, would really help to plan around that without just pumping in a ton of animals and hoping to get lucky with the spawns appearing at the places where you want to change stuff.

And thats it, ngl this was a far more satisfying time building around an exhibit and while it still made trouble with its sheer size, it atleast mostly fit inside the building this time, which is nice.
Looks far far better and also took in a good amound of space that i now dont have to decorate by hand, win win

Hello everyone!
Why now the maximum cost of a trip by transport is $10? I tried to close the transport, make the road longer, add wagons and change the transport, but still I can’t put the price higher than 10, only lower. Does anyone know what happened? Is it a new bug after the update or is there another reason for this?

Going back to Jamestown Zoo and there's a lot for me to do now. I see I didn't even really flesh out the foliage for the Wombat, Emu, Wallaby and Maned Wolf yet. Add Red River Hogs to that list of animals I need to finish their habitats for.

But I wanted to post my work in progress Sloth Exhibit. I finally got a male and female for my big banner zoo. Actually two males,..but that's besides the point. Not sure how I want to cover this if I do at all, and there's more to put down, but I'm just glad I finally got the animals themselves. I feel like much of my time in this zoo the five days has been refreshing the exhibit market, and I can move on from that now.

I'm really impressed with these. It's actually going to be very easy for me to suspend imagination and think of them has habitat animals. I wish we could edit the climbing frame but it is what it is. I've also just started researching these, so I know that there will be customization that can be done once what's completed.

Suggestions, y'all:

I'm building a zoo set in Santa Fe, Argentina. Grasslands biome...

My entrance habitat is red deer. I'm using the new world building set to build a modernized zoo.
I have a little butterfly garden with cloudless sulfur butterflies, a local species.

I am going to start building the 1st area of the zoo, and I already have the animals:
  • Asian water monitor
  • Dhole
  • Komodo dragon
  • Lar gibbon
  • North Sulawesi babirusa
  • Wild water buffalo
What/how do y'all suggest I build?

I finished the new career scenario from the tropical pack. It's funny that the fossa reward statue is located in Indonesia and the oranguntan reward statue is located in Madagascar. I think even Frontier is sruprised that the game has been running for so long now (and hopefully it will be much more!).

It sounds like you've got a good plan already really thought out. Are you looking for more animal suggestions or building suggestions? I'd probably add in the Capybara but that's just me. The zoopedia says they're in Argentina and have grasslands as a biome. Test the limits of how well they get along with everyone by having them share the Komodo Dragon habitat (just joking on that last!)

"Grandma's Fresh Juices - take a sip, dissolve in sensations!"

Steve loved coming to the village every summer to visit his grandmother. He also enjoyed freshly squeezed juice made from fruits that grew on their farm. Now Steve has grown up and decided to promote these amazing juices.

Purchase your first batch of juices for your zoo at a 30% discount and watch your visitors rejoice. They'll come back again and again to enjoy these amazing juices.

(This rustic-style building is the cover for the two vending machines for the drinks. On either side is a simulated recycling collection, and you can easily and discreetly hide two trash cans in it)

Wow, that looks super cool. You know, I never think to use the vending machines. Are those worth it compared to the kiosks and stands?

Well, if you build in tropical climate and don't want to have stands every few steps because it's too hot for the guests, then vending machines are a good thing.
