What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Spent 2.5 hours building a simple picket fence, 80m long on a slope, demolishing it and rebuilding it because it wasn’t quite right….

I love/hate this game

Got the king penguin house almost done, only the large part of the roof missing now ^^

No idea how far I'll be able to take this one because I have the feeling the path work's already making the game lag >.>

Please work on optimization for the next update guys!

Well, they did work on it some. My largest zoo with 9k guests went from 12 fps in crowded areas to 25 fps over the years.

But the engine still has that damn cpu utilization bottleneck and I have no idea if that even can be fixed at this point >.<

I don't really think we can expect any actual further improvement at this stage, I think Frontier has given us the best optimization possible with the game engine despite the obvious bottlenecks. My zoos seem to run at 25fps aswell but only like 40 percent of the cpu (and gpu to that matter) is being used.

As always with the release of a new DLC, I started a new franchise zoo with the animals from the arid animal pack to research them before I can use the new animals in my sandbox zoo (it's a rule that I made myself for me to use every new animal at least once!). Today I finished the zoo and all new animals have been researched!

As I expected, the porcupine is my favourite animal of the new pack.

I think that blue bamboo could work quite well around the main building.

Yeah, I think so, too. I'm gonna check it out tomorrow. There are a few other tiny details I forgot I wanted to add to it anyway, so may as well do that too xD

Not a whole lot more done. Worked on the stadium entry/exit ramp (left side) and entry/exit stairs (right side), ramped bypass pathway and started a backstage area. Plan is to also encase the train so that one-side looks out to the sea lions below while the rest is encased in a half-tunnel, as it were.

That's real cool. I should play around with the transport rides more. I've never actually touched them.

By the way, if you tap 'G' on your keyboard in-game it hides the UI for cleaner screenshots. Just in case you weren't aware.

Well, I also put down signs where I want all the animals to go except for the African ones yet...still very annoyed that so many base game animals are missing signs or don't have nice ones like the new dlc species have >.>

I bought some Elephant grass for my balcony. Now I can't access my apartment anymore due to hitboxes and can't play Planet Zoo.

Try jumping on top of the grass, my lions always do this to escape
