What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Really love the predator/prey themeWell well i can happily say that the largest and imo best thing ive ever done in planet zoo is now finished.
The lion habitat is one of the oldest habitat in my zoo, older then the wetlands pack and the 4. habitat i started to build in my current zoo 2 years ago after i had a little oopsie after the NA animal pack and its finally (mostly) finished. There are still some details to the holding, signage and decoration outside the habitat to be added, but for the most part its done.
Its ~3500 m^2 of traversable area, way more then the 700 my 4 lions need. The habitat is cradled between the african savanah/elephants and aardvarks at the the top and meerkats aswell as gorillas at the bottom, making for quite the busy pathway.

The oldest part is this front view across a water moat. Im not the biggest on the custom fence i used here, but i still remember how much of a pain in the ass it was to build so to respect my own suffering and as it still looks decenetly it stays for now. I mostly prettyied this area up alot with foliage and grasses, something i got really got since i first made it.

The other part i will propaply redo is the very ugly viewing gallery here aswell as the fence between them and the aardvarks. It works in game but it doesnt satisfy my realism itch as theres no reason why they could jump across this low fence. Also ignore the gemsbock, they broke in, blame fini she wanted them back when this was a wish for animals thing.
The pic also shows nicly how my skill imrpoved from what i considerd decently decorated a year ago, my current skill and a mostly empty habitat that i only terraformed so far.

You can perfectly look from one side to the other, with the first pic taken roughly around the willow. Panorama shots like these are just very fun and ensure many unintended beautiful shots where by simply using terrain preemptivly in a smart way gorgeous shots are produced all the time without any concious effort.

A shot from above shows well how i layerd the area with 4 sections of faux rock walls and 2 dry moats, one in the back and one in the front, with the back leading to the holding, which is fully functional. The lions can go in on both sides to be seperated while the keeper can walk through the middle and pops out through the door.View attachment 370445So yeah, after atleast 15 hours total but 8 yesterday and today combined i finally finished my so far biggest and best build and i couldnt be happier.
Quite the big moment gotta say as my zoo finally has a new functional and beautiful heart piece that im proud of and isnt a filler habitat for wallabys.
I cant wait how good it will look once the savannah habitat in the back will be worked on, but for now im very pleased and content
Okay, I build a Kiwi indoor habitat. The pics took a while to upload, so in the meantime on the green area here there were build two shops, so that the area is also now visible separated from the mixed-beach section behind it.

Been feeling under the weather lately, so I plan to Planet Zoo this evening.
My plan is to build a nice, Australian zoo, the True Blue Zoo. I plan to start with the spectacled flying fox at the entrance of the zoo. However, I want it to feel authentic and not feel clumsy or awkward.
Do y'all have any tips I could use to build the flying fox aviary? Or maybe a template construct that I could use and tweak to my liking?

The bat house is now fully moved into the zoo making this section of the zoo officially complete. Next project is Tassie Devils and Kiwis for a Halloween Spooktacular, and gotta revamp the Wallaby enclosure cause it hurts my eyes to look at lol.
Build an Australian spectacled flying fox house for Mr. Quell. Mr. Quell is asking for a bat house that's cheap enough to start off in franchise. Mr. Quell would really appreciate itI'm feeling like doing something in PZ, but lacking any motivation

I am back to work on my zoo. I am currently building some botanic gardens just to give the entrance area a bit more breathing room.
They are surrounding the large mixed deer paddock and you might be able to notice some butterfly walkthroughs in there too. Since my zoo is set in the UK I am using them for native wild butterflies.
Anyway, I got tired placing buffalo grass so I will have to continue planting another day.

I’m going to start the next section of Eastborro Zoo today called Expedition Asia. It’s past the Children’s Zoo and Mixed AU habitat. I built a small Cassowary habitat next to it and it bridges the gap from Oceania to Asia. Any ideas? My inspiration meter has dropped a bit the past few days.

A mix of tropical and taiga Asia? Bengal tiger, snow leopard, red panda, Sun bear, binturong and lar gibbons for example.Start with tropical Asia next to the cassowaries and move gradually into the himalayas. If I was doing it, it could easily be 10 habitats
Start off with the islands. Orangutan, siamangs komodo dragon, etc
Thanks guys for the ideas! I’m going to build the first real ‘house’ of the zoo, that being a house with Komodo Dragons and Asian Water Monitors among a couple of exhibit species. There will be viewing areas on the outside and on the inside. I have a couple questions since I have never used these guys before:
. How big are the two lizards?
. How much water should the AWM have?
. Should the Komodo have water?
. Should I put the little barbed wire things on the top of their fences?
I am doing this in sandbox mode so habitat requirements aren’t an issue here.

I don't know much about AWM, but komodos are huge, a little bit longer than a man, I believe
Not sure, but since they're semiaquatic, I'd say at least a 1/3, depending on how you want their habitat to look
I don't think it's a necessity, unless you want it to look natural. You could probably combine their water source
Well, I believe they can climb, but not sure how well
Fairly large, I would aim to make 500-800m2 sized habitats for both of them.
Zoopedia says 100m2 for 2 monitors, I would make a semi aquatic wetland style habitat for them.
Well... you want to them die of dehydration? A small pool for drinking is all you need, don't make a water monitor habitat for a komodo, I love making either a tropical forest or beach themed habitat for the dragons.
