What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

I finished a new part of the zoo with two long habitats. There are Asian small calwed otters on the left side and gharials on the right side.

Mostly finshed my walkthrough Cape of Africa aviary. This was originally supposed to be my admittedly very big stretch on the "mixed african herd" theme for the building challenge, but didnt finish it in time for various reasons.
Its hard enough to make mixed aviaries in PZ as is, let alone making one for a specific area :D. But i think this mix is pretty cool does make sense and it was inspired by something from a real zoo which has something pretty similar to this with humbolt penguin, scarlet ibis, inca tern and chilean flamingo. I had to rely on mods to pump the number of species up from 2 to 4. So this aviary houses the African Penguin, Greater Flamingo, White Faced Whistling Duck and the Great White Pelican, which all overlap in range in a small area of south africa. The penguins are restriced to their side of the habitat while all other birds can utilize the entire area (in theory).
Please excuse me not actually filling in the top netting, but i dont hate myself and want to spend 2 days putting netting in :D

Just looked at it again. What is that Gravel Part? It doesn't seem to be the Path. Is it in the Oceania Pack?

They are hidden pieces in the game. They are officially in the game and all, but disabled for some reason.
You can get them from the workshop tho
Oh ok. Still don't understand why they can't be bought and won't get added officially. Looks great by the Way. Also thought about adding a small Aviary to my Zoo (Wetlands Style though)

I always wanted these gravel pieces but I thought they were mods. I had no clue I could download them from the workshop. Thank you for this information! This truly made my day:LOL:

Reminds me of when I spent 4 days making a massive mesh canopy to only disappear when the camera was moved to the guest viewing areas, which broke the entire point of the canopy. If there was any moment that made me to quit the game that was the closest 😂

For the latest Zoolympics Challenge I ended up with 2 set ups. This was the one I didn't choose to submit to the challenge .

When I make my zoos, and parks in Planet Coaster, I lay out the entire footprint and do just enough scenery and enrichment items to get the animals/rides to 100% ratings and then I go back and detail them later. I finally got every North American animal into Sonoma Coast Wildlife Sanctuary, so today the badgers got their upgrade.

Today was a busy day of backstage building. This is my new and improved lion shelter. BVefore i started playing today only the row between the front and the glas was one long stripe with only minimal space for the lions, so i expanded it quite a bit to now feature 3 seperateable indoor areas on the left and back of the building, a small animal path between the main exhibit in the front and the new side exhibit for either striped hyenas or just to seperate the lions for longer times and on the right a second seperated indoor space.
li.jpeg
Running between the cages is the fully functional staff path with an acess point to every seperateable area and the main habitat, 2 moveable gates to actually seperate the main shelter into an entrance, main indoor and a small path area which is also connected to a gate to outside of the building as the place where lions are moved in and out of the habitat.
Theres also a little area with tools and storage space aswell as a hose to clean up the whole complex.
Gotta say, my modular backstage set really is doing some heavy lifting regarding me even being motivated to do all these backstage areas, so im really glad i kept going at it a year ago when i tried to made a river fence and accidentally created whats most likly the most usefull thing i ever made

😍 Looks great. I wish I was that good at building Backstage Areas

Thank you!
Most of the struggle is just remembering to actually do them and leave space for them. Backstage is less cool and flashy as the main habitats but still important and needs space, which is honestly a good thing as a functional backstage ups the habitat size quite nicly without just being more of the same. In general just one or 2 sets of backstage fences, doors and maybe a sliding gate and you got most of the interior you need with everything else being sponsored by the conservation pack

Build this absolute goober of a slow loris for my nocturnal house today

Looks nice. 🤔 Maybe it could work to let it look less bubbly by copying those round Pieces in between each other?
It's a Shame we still have no proper Nocturnal Houses.
Even though I absolutely love to add them to my Zoos, I'm getting tired of building them because I'm not in the Mood to dig down 20m or whatever.
