What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

This is more "what I did in Planet Zoo these past 2 weeks" rather than today, but the interior of my "Sumatra Lodge" exhibit is finally complete (For now, at least.)

It features an indoor exhibit for Clouded Leopards (connected to a larger outdoor space; if it were a real zoo they would rotate a male and female between the two exhibits via their backstage holding, which is a WIP currently), a viewing area for the first Sumatran Tiger enclosure (also a WIP, what I'll be working on after the Clouded Leopards), a tank for Leaf Insects, and an Asian Water Monitor exhibit:

Building indoor areas is my absolute least favorite thing to do in this game so I'm looking forward to making some outdoor exhibits next. I started on the outdoor Clouded Leopard exhibit yesterday and it's coming along nicely:

For you disliking building indoor areas you did an amazing job! I love how it looks, really really great job, i aspire to build half as good as that, love it!

Thank you so much for the support, it means a lot! My main gripe with indoor areas is just how tedious they can be to build, especially when I want to go against the main grid and make diagonal walls, which can be quite a hassle (even more so when it’s a diagonal wall underneath a pitched roof 😵‍💫)

I've finally finished the ocelot habitat in my South American house. It took much longer than expected. Because of the veeery annoyingly bad traversable area of the ocelot, I completely lost the pleasure to finish the habitat in the meantime. In the end it is okay. I personally still don't love the habitat because it is not as lush as I planned to. But I can now move on to the rest of the building.
Anyways, the ocelot got two indoor exhibits, two outdoor exhibits and three backstage cages.

There is a little hut next to the second outdoor exhibit which offers an elevated view into the climbing structures of the ocelots.

Neglected australian animals for far too long so here's the entrance to my new zoo, kuranda park zoo. Heavily inspired by the melbourne zoo, with it's australian art deco themed entrance building complete with a modern gift shop.

That entrance building is incredible!! One of the most accurate depictions of a real-life building I've ever seen in this game 👏

I actually enjoy your original zoos more than your recreations (though your work in the Houston zoo is amazing, specially with the wetlands sections of Texas and pantanal). And i love Australian animals so i can't wait to see more of this!
Thanks! I've been taking note of how many people do like my other creative projects, only problem was that the coldwater falls zoo completely fell into that "what now?" hole where I struggle to continue it. Building endless amounts of average north american zoo exhibits is never really that fun so hoping the idea of an exciting australian zoo covering pretty much all oceania biomes is a much more encouraging project.

BTW, has someone noticed an improvement on herding since the last 3 or so updates? I'm noticing it specially with those Somali wild donkeys, they like to keep together doing the same activities and/or just walking in the same direction. But maybe it's just my imagination...
(Except for this guy, who jumped over the moat just to be stopped by that little stick fence, produce some manure gifts unreachable for the keepers, and jump back into the enclosure).

Figuring out space planning forced me to skip finishing Predator Plateau and do the first two habitats for the Asia section. This area begins at the zoos highest elevation just beyond Predator Plateau and makes its way downward. The first habitat went to Takin. The waterfall/stream system cascades down through the habitat and empties into a pool that resides in a shared habitat for Red-Crowned Crane and Japanese Macaque. The glass greenhouse is a blueprint from the first zoo I made in the game so I brought it back and repurposed its little bit. I removed all the exhibits turned each corner into indoor viewing areas. The entire glass house is also habitat space for the cranes and macaques. I added a bunch of climbing ropes and platforms throughout to encourage them to explore as it’s a very large space. The exit from the backside of the glass house will house will take guests to the petting zoo and the opposite side exit will take guests to see Red Panda and Pallas Cat.

Now I need to go finish Predator Plateau. Just Red Foxes and detailing the bears habitats left to go. 😮‍💨
