What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

It's E749, Wu's attempt before Scorpious Rex
Ah now I know why I've never heard of it. It's from Camp Cretaceous. Never watched it because from what I've seen from it so far, they seem to do some Things extremely wrong.
😂 Now I imagine Dr. Wu working in a Lab to create a Otter that is as big as a Cow

It's not bad. Even though it's kid oriented, it's not bad. But there are a whole bunch of mixed reviews

Hey look, it's Movie Night😆
I'm sorry for the bad Quality. I'm using the Forum on my Phone, my new Charging Cable can't transfer Files for some Reason and the old one smoked when I've tried it earlier today

I need that Thylacine recording. Maybe make a "Recently Extinct Hall", featuring Thylacine and Dodo clips (and others)
That's the same Idea I've already had long before the Feature got released. This Building is my Museum (obviously still work in Progress). The Thylacine Clip can be found on Wikimedia Commons but you won't have Luck with finding real Dodo Footage because they already went extinct in the 16. Century
You don't even need to convert the File. It's already in the webm Format.
Edit: OK, that's weird. Just saw that it shows .ogv here but when I've downloaded it to my PC it was webm

Yeah, I figured. But there are documentaries about them (and I'm sure that somewhere there are CGI clips for a documentary)
Reminds me of that Hoax where someone claimed that a living Dodo was recorded and then it turned out that it was a Commercial (just don't remember for what exactly. I'll try to find it. The Dodo was really well made if I remember correctly)

I installed a pair of Clouded leopards in one of my zoos and am hoping for some cubbies. The habitat I used was originally designed for Bengal tigers, but they seem to have most of the same requirements, except for adding more climbable items.

I am a bit confused about how to use the billboards, though. All options for selecting advertising targets are greyed out. I get the impression there is also a way to upload image files of your own, but I'm not clear on how to do this. Is there a billboard tutorial somewhere?

Just remembered another extinct Animal again. The Sumxu, also known as Chinese lop eared Cat. Sadly no Photos of it seem to exist. It isn't even known if it was really a Cat. There was a taxidermied Specimen in a Museum once but it was destroyed (I think there was a Fire or something similar)

Our domestic cats, though they differ in colour, form no distinct races. The climates of Spain and Syria have alone produced permanent varieties: To these may be added the climate of Pe-chi-ly in China, where the cats have long hair and pendulous ears, and are the favourites of the ladies. These domestic cats with pendulous ears, of which we have full descriptions, are still farther removed from the wild and primitive race, than those whose ears are erect....

I formerly remarked, that, in China, there were cats with pendulous ears. This variety is not found any where else, and perhaps it is an animal of a different species; for travellers, when mentioning an animal called Sumxu, which is entirely domestic, say, that they can compare it to nothing but the cat, with which it has a great resemblance. Its colour is black or yellow, and its hair very bright and glittering. The Chinese put silver collars about the necks of these animals, and render them extremely familiar. As they are not common, they give a high price, both on account of their beauty, and because they destroy rats. __________________________________________________ Natural History of The Cat (Volume 4 of Histoire Naturelle, as translated into English by William Smellie in 1781

Well, it may be rediscovered one day. Kinda like the Spinosaurus when the Museum was bombed so we would get a Spinosaur with a Carnosaur face

Don't think it is likely for it to be rediscovered if it was really a Breed of domesticated Cat🙁
But of course it would be great.

Figured out how to fit the Penguin Enclosure into my Aquarium Building. The Entrance to the Tropical Dome is now in a Tunnel under the Penguin Enclosure. There's a absolutely great planted Area in the Tunnel with a Pangolin Statue and a Tapir Statue. There's a Conservation Board about traditional Medicine between the Statues and the planted Area is surrounded by wooden Planks from the Australian Building Set

After restricting myself to the classic theme for so long, i finally got bored with it and started to experiment with modern architecture again. Here, take a look, but don't loose your head on all those sexy curves.

Once completed, it will serve as a tropical house and be tall enough to fit the largest trees inside it. The sideway "tunnels" itself are planned to be used as habitats for the little monkeys and lemurs and they will be able to use the entire vertical space between the inner wall and the outer ring structure. And don't worry, it will receive natural light, i'm just working on the windows right now.

😍 This looks so great. I will most likely also work on my tropical Dome once the Penguin Enclosure and the Indoor Design of the Aquarium Building are done

Just tried a few minutes career again. I can't do this XD Not that I'm not able to, it's just not fun. I wonder what was different for me with JWE. There I mostly enjoyed.

Today I'd like to share with you what I've been working on since yesterday morning. This is very a much a WIP so if you spot blank areas without foliage etc, that is why. This is the beginning of the "Southeast Asia and the Islands" trail at my sandbox zoo, Seapines Zoological Park, which is set in South Carolina, USA. This is a picture to the entrance to the trail, subject to change. Ignore the lemur habitat, it's just a habitat that acts as a centerpiece to the park, which splits off into other areas, such as this one, or eventually Africa.

Now that we're properly in the trail, this is the first habitat we come across. It's a pretty large mixed habitat for the Sulawesi babirusa and Malayan tapir. There are 2 adult males, 5 adult female and 1 baby for the babirusa, while there are just 1 male and 1 female adult tapirs. We'll be able to see them again soon.

Here is the trail continuing on a gentle decline. On the right is the waterfall scene I show a bit of earlier, with some added Khmer/Cambodian inspired ruins and a "Sumatran" (Amur) tiger statue. I also moved the "Burmese Python" (Anaconda) statue to provide a better view.

Screenshot-23.png

The waterfall flows into what I call the "Cassowary Hideaway" which features just 1 adult male at the moment. I decided to put the tapirs in with the babirusa, which was my original idea, but I had to fiddle around with the terrain because the big guys had some trouble moving around. Anyways, that's why they aren't next to the waterfall scene like I had mentioned they would be yesterday.

Screenshot-24.png

Next up is a small cave that showcases the two exhibit animals from Asia, the leaf insect and giant forest scorpion. I switched it to night for this photo because I have red lights in the scorpion exhibit.
Screenshot-25.png

Finally, here is the second viewing of the babirusa/tapir habitat, on the backend of the slope. The trail continues onwards but is so far unfinished. The general idea is to start with the Southern most islands and work up to the mainland. This means Orangutans and Proboscis monkeys are likely the next habitat, but that's all tbd. Hope you enjoyed!

Very, very cool. I'm actually surprised you haven't placed Bingturongs yet, but you're likely planning something special for them
