What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

I've been building not Fisherman's Wharf Wharf - Industrial Steampunk - for Seals and other Aquatic Animals - Beachy, Warehouse Vibe . . .

Currently cleaning out mods in all of my zoos, as they will break with the update. My heart already broke, I can tell you. Murmeldorf is basically not possible without mods and I will miss my Auodads and Flamingo species in Golding. A lot.
My Maned Wolf in Unity is pregnant. I might have to speed up time. In a zoo with over 30 species. Send help.

Now I'm glad that I hold my horses and only added three or four mods to see how they work. I already removed them too.

I'd downloaded nearly all of the non-replacement ones prior to the SEA pack, but slowed down on adding mods after that break, precisely to see what happened this time around. (And because I had so many new animals to play with from the pack itself).

I will say that the modders have been very conscientious about warning people this time, which I deeply appreciate!

I can relate...
I also had a couple of pregnant modded animals so I had to speed up time. But the worst part is when you cannot sell or release juveniles that don't turn into adults in many years. I had to commit the cruelty of letting two cute Alpine ibexes be predated by dingos :(
Btw now that you mention the aoudads, it's probably the only mod I've been having trouble with. Whenever a female was about to have offpsring my game crashed. Not sure if it's because Nick didn't add juvenile models or what but I had to scrap having them in my zoo. Wondering if you or anyone else have been experiencing this too?

Mine weren't pregnant so I can't really tell. Did you ask Nick about it? It really shouldn't happen.
Yeah, my mod count was about 30 when the update was announced. Already deleted the mods, but will sure re-download when they are updated since the quality of some of them is just amazing (with obvious limitations). Had to sell my perfect gold pair of NA river otters damn it!
I will definately add them back too, because one of my zoos wouldn't even be possible without mods, hence to the lack of european animals and such.
Lets hope modders can be fast with fixing everything and that every modder will still take the time to fix their stuff.

I might start fresh with collecting as well, I don't know yet. So far I just downloaded everything I loved, even if I couldn't particularly use it right away. Which means, on the other hand, thankfully the most mods I just have to scrap out of my folder.

Oh I am also guilty of this. Had alot of mods that I would not find use for at least for some time. But they were too good to not download. I also like to browse zoopedia and the feeling of having alot of choices of animals is also a factor lol.

Happy I'm not alone :D I also am a bit afraid of missing out on cool mods and animals, when time progresses and they move farther back on N...
So I rather download them right away, put them in my google sheet to remember I have them / need to update them and just be happy about the choices :D And yes, I am nerdy enough to have a google sheet with all animals (including Frontier ones), so when I search a fitting animal for my - say - asian section I can easily find one.

I must do it too after my work today, i really hope they can fix them. Lucky me, i've played with "stop breeding", but i'm sad.
It's crazy, i feel like the half of my animals are mods, they are all so freakin awesome xD

But, i think, today i will maybe do some work on Kala Marula. Only two Nile Monitors has arrived.

Haven't played in a long time, and now slowly getting pack in the game to prepare for the new content. This pack is a nearly perfect fit for my desert zoo project.
Would have preferred a general desert pack, so I could add to other areas beside Africa as well, but I am for sure not complaining.

I am considering splitting my African Area into two, to make the layout a bit more interesting and add to the educational value. The main part will be focusing on species from the Kalahari and Namib desert. Since these two areas are located near each other and a lot of species are found both places it makes the most sense to let these two deserts share an area. That also means I don't have to change much of my current African area.

Then there will be the Sahara, even though there is only a limited amount of animals for this. I think I will build this area around a restaurant, to have an excuse to make the thematic be a bit more 'extreme'. The inhabitants will of course be fennecs and the scarab beetle if I can make their exhibit appear smaller.
But also flamingoes since they can be found in the western Sahara.

New mesh pieces will hopefully be useful for a jaguar enclosure for the NA part of the park.

I'm currently doing some detail work and a lot of replanning in Unity, as for Golding I need the Africa pack and for Murmeldorf I need Mods.

But ugh, Unity... while I still love the idea of having a zoo with sections that are not continent based, but called "world of color" "World of plants" and "World of silence" to easily add dlc animals in the future, I've worked on this project for almost a year now and feel very burned out with it. I also made a lot of progress with my building skills since I started the zoo, so there is lot to be improved and I feel kind of overrwhelmed by now.

I sometimes get that seem feeling after two hours - I can't imagine having it after a year. 😅

Here's my caiman habitat. About as small as I could reasonably make it. Obviously they can't deep dive in here but it doesn't bother me so much (I really only felt like diving was important to the penguins, seals, otters, and polar bears anyway). Anyway, I completed this reptile house and I hate the exterior so I'm going to start a new zoo now that I have recovered some of my skills.
Hi NZFanatic - this is fantastic - meant to comment before this, but I really love the tropical vibrancy and the small-ness of the enclosure - has given me inspiration for the Fennec Foxes and Meerkats. Can you post some more photo's - it's great:) - I especially love all the luxuriant moss.

I love the photo Salamanders - for it showcases the arid environment and how beautiful it can be - I live in the Tropics and don't use dry environs and this makes me want to use dry biomes :)
Today I built an abstract bird statue for my future zoo

Hi Chrisslie - WOW - awesome statue and beautiful lines - the flow of this is inspiring - I might have to steal this for an art sculpture idea, thanks for inspiring me :)
Ok, so this is nothing compared to what everyone has posted above, but even with a little headache this morning, i still tried to be creative and work on the habitat i am making for my event
I ended up making these boards, that shows what's written on them as you move around, and now i'm curious, what do you think could be a creative use for them ?

Great use for louver'd signs - never thought of doing that - thanks for the inspiration BibiPizzy - and you Zoo looks fantastic - thanks for more inspiration, G

Thank you, but unfortunately that is the only screenshot I took of it and I deleted the zoo (I start over frequently and I find that having too many save files slows things down). I liked the concept of it though so I'll probably do it again in another zoo, but try and make it even smaller. 😅

It really made me wish I could just plop them in a 4x8 or 8x8 exhibit box, though. I wouldn't mind if they were just floating there not doing much, most crocodilia do that in zoos anyway, but I want to challenge myself and see if I can make the habitat tiny (the biggest hindrance is actually placing enrichment - we really need tiny versions of the mud wallow and forage box for situations like this).

I'd love that too - an 8x8 box would be AWESOME - it's the best small exhibit I've seen in my opinion :)
