What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Needed a break from the desert, so startet on a new project. A park located in Norway with focus on carnivores from the the colder regions in the Northern Hemisphere.

I have started this up in the sandbox version of the Arctic Research Career Map (whatever it is called), because the background in this map looks great with mountains, forest and ocean. Even though I am starting to fear that I need to make this into a blueprint and move it to a regular sandbox map.

One thing is the smaller size of the map. I would hate to run out of space in case I got a really good thing going on here.
But the map also seem to be a bit buggy. Lots of trees that can't be deleted, spots of snow I can't get rid of, a small group of guests that won't disappear and more.

It is the first time I try to use one of these career maps in sandbox, so I don't know if it is common to experience issues with them?

Used the Mesh Pieces to build 3 really awesome covered Enclosures (one is sadly only implied due to the Animal or at least a similar one not being in the Game). I've built Enclosures for Japanese Squirrels, Red Pandas and Chinese Pangolins (really hope we'll get a Climbing Update for them including hanging on their Tail like mentioned in another Thread)

I would've posted a few more Pictures of the Red Panda Enclosure but I've reached the Limit of Pictures for this Post. But this one isn't nearly as good as the other ones anyways

So.. I reworked my flamingo habitat abit because I had the time today. I could not implement all I wanted and often you just get lost in time with these projects even small ones. But a few people suggested to me, that it is actually decent enough to share.. So here it goes.

Not my best creation, but fairly decent for my current zoo. I like how the flamingos run across the water area etc.

I found a solution for my mandrill dilemma :) I remember someone was offering help, but it has been a while ago, so I don't want to search 5 pages, but if you read this: Thank you! :D

Also started the food cort in the african savannah section.

(old screenshot, I already decorated more)

EDIT: I know, totally out of scale. I honestly just want to have building fun with this project, realism I reserve for other projects.

Today I've been landscaping a transition area for zoo number 1598.3

- People will walk from a Morocco area into a dry sclerophyll forest with dune type areas transitioning into desert - perhaps - still making up my mind - Finding the right plants form, texture and blending has been really interesting. Kinda going for the Heath-land vibe (like Castlemaine Victoria) - like an Australian wind swept Coastal area with red sands and earth. Love all the lovely plants in the game - also fixated with an orange looking landscape - like Uluru - and the soil colour where I live. The orange rocks look great too . . .

Also really love the Vista points - makes sculpting a Botanic Garden really cool :) 🚡🚠🚝 (Still need cable cable cars in game and long monorail trains with forward facing seats)

Wow, it's a Shame that the Pictures for some Reason didn't load for me earlier today. This is absolutely amazing.

I've built a really nice looking Dhole Enclosure in the empty Space between my Japanese and Chinese Area because I will most likely finally buy this DLC soon. I hope the Ussuri Dhole has the correct Biome Tags and no (or at least a high) Vegetation Limit, so there won't be any Problems

I appear to be channeling the colour orange - And got carried away last night and the area became Quasi Moroccan - Australia blend - linking two areas of Zoo number #1598.3.1 - Chapter 3 - Australia. Look forward to seeing your Dhole enclosure and the Australian Pack has awesome scenery and trees - To build a Quasi Heathland - you need all the packs for the grasses and shrubs - there are so many amazing plants :) Also love watching how the crowds move around the Zoo - I keep opening and closing the Zoo to see Guest flow - it's very interesting!

Would also love to see gardeners - could be really fun watching and managing them 🚡🚠🚝 (vote #1 for cable car, new steam train and long monorail train variants;))

Might show a few Pictures of the Enclosure later if you want to see it. Just will need a few Days to really get Dholes in there because I don't have enough Money on my Steam Account and Online Banking needs to be so slow for some Reason 😴
Not only the Enclosure is looking great but also the Area behind the Deer Enclosure at the Entrance. The Trees in the Enclosure of which the Leaves are hanging over the Wall, make it so much better.

My Zoo has also really great looking Guest Flow at the Entrance 🙂

Regarding the Plants, I wish more DLCs would be like the Aquatic Pack. It's so awesome that it not only feels like a Animal and Building Expansion but also like a Botanical Garden Pack. We still need so much more Plants in the Game in my Opinion.

Thanks for showing more Pictures of it. If the whole Zoo is that awesome, I really want to see it

It's mesmerising - I love seeing how they flow around the Zoos - especially in fast forward - so cool. Look forward to seeing your Dhole enclosure. Agree with a Botanic pack - would be awesome. :) - always is inspiring, and I was playing around with a monorail - it's orange too ;) - and why is it that when there is a huge queue of people waiting for the monorail - only one person gets on the train - even with full load ticked - I would just love larger capacity monorail trains with forward facing seats - for the sideways aspect of the current cars is annoying when you build the track on the edge of an enclosure (I nearly always do) - so as not to ruin the enclosure aesthetic - and one side gets the view and the other is looking at a path or the barren edge of the zoo - this is why I would love more options - and a voice-over on the ride would be great too - with long trains leaving every few minutes to see the animal attractions and transport large volumes of guests to other areas of the zoo. I would love to make a safari monorail that goes for a few kilometres and departs every 20 minutes - like what Kings Island used to have - that monorail perhaps and longer trains option and an actual safari train like Animal Kingdom - for changing the theme of the zoo - more rustic and aged looking . . . G

Look forward to seeing your Dhole enclosure

Can't wait for the Dholes to arrive there. If it is too much Plant Coverage, I will just expand the Enclosure a bit. Sadly I wasn't able to connect the Dhole Path to the Panda Path on the right Side

and a voice-over on the ride would be great too
This would be great. We should get the Possibility to either upgrade the Rides with a Speaker or add a Educator to it
