What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Did a little more work this morning. I filled a small gap with a tiered garden and a couple of shops and ATMs (that notification about ATMs is so annoying). The garden feels a little "too much" but I can't be bothered going back to it just now - I'm not a huge fan of gardening! I much prefer doing "wild gardens" with trees and shrubs than fancy planting with flowers and colour schemes. 😅

I also added a walkthrough peafowl garden on the outside of the Tropic Hall. It needs a lot of work, to be honest, but it was an experiment at first. I'll extend it out and build it up and try to make it prettier.

Looks good. I think the garden turned out quite nicely with the different terraces.
What trick are you using to keep the peafowls inside the habitat and preventing them from walking through the gates?

I sort of finished my Indian/Asian themed area. The tropical hall on the left will get two more enclosures with tapirs and Orang Utans soon, but I want to start my african area first.
how did you go about planning/building your tropical hall? Planning to do the same in my asia area (if my patience allows it lol) but dont seem to know how to get started

I'm playing Sandbox with escapes disabled. 😅 It allows the null barrier to act as a true barrier.

The hall itself is an item from the workshop: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2574358795
And because this is an asian area, I only wanted to put asian/indian animals into the hall. At the front there are some exhibits first with snakes, scorpions (not all of them are from asia, but that's due to the fact that we only have very few asian exhibit species at the moment) and toilets. Next there's a habitat for Komodo Dragons with a viewing area. On the right side are also two habitats for Clouded Leopards and Babirusas. On the left side there will be Orang Utans and Malayan Tapirs. But I haven't started the latter two habitats yet.

At the moment building the african section of my zoo is much more interesting. The first residents: Gemsbok

I started remodelling my woodland park but the prospect of individually removing all the benches, bins and donations boxes (why, Frontier, WHY?) was too depressing so I've started my first ever tropical zoo. I created a river for the ferry boats (hoping we'll get some new designs of these in the next update) but then got distracted with the empty space on the far side of the river and it all got a bit out of hand. I've nearly worn out the smooth tool and still have to do the other half, finish the waterfall and hide the edges with rocks, and then cover the mountain with foliage. And then I can think about starting the zoo! Why do we do these things to ourselves?

I didn't know that, thanks! Now it would be easier to have "free-roaming" peawfols in pedestrian areas of my zoos.🦚
When they first added the option to turn off escapes it didn't work perfectly and my peafowl would still sometimes wander out of the barrier, but they supposedly fixed it in one of the recent updates. I haven't had any problems in this zoo so far, so hopefully it works for you, too.

Looks really nice👍
The Hills in my New Zealand Zoo still don't look very good. I wish the Smooth Tool would be more effektive

I finished the orangutan habitat next to the tigers:

Really nice. That Climbing Structure in the last Picture looks like it would provide lots of Fun for the Orangutans. If only we would have Brachiation already ._.

Thanks! I agree about the smooth tool. I don't know if it needs to be quicker or more imaginative but something isn't quite right. It's very satisfying though!

Progress. Not thrilled with how the area around the waterfalls look but I'm pleased with how the falls themselves look, especially (typically!) the second one I added which was in a bit of a hurry.

It looks very exciting! I can't wait to hear more it is similar to amazon rainforest so it's cool and if we also get dlc soon amazon dlc it will fit very well, but It look very nice 💚 🦥

I did this yesterday and posted it in the wrong thread!

This is my improved walkthrough peafowl garden. I've still got one or two details to add, but it's pretty much the finished product. I was really stuck with how to garden it, so I decided to create a bunch of 'nature pockets' slightly raised from the ground using rocks as a curb and mulch as a base. The shelter was once a storage shed or stable (probably the former, too small for a stable - maybe a kennel, though?).
