What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Kinda got back into franchise after like over a year of not playing it and first thing I saw that my trade center was kinda flooded with Lemurs 😂

So first things first: I went and started working on a Lemur island for my zoo to get them out of there 😅

Started with the house which is obviously far from finished still, but I like the direction it's going in so far.

Today I worked on my hyenas enclosure, it's a kind of elephant graveyard (of course based on the one from the Lion King film, but I've tried to keep the architectural style of the zoo as much as possible). It's not finished yet, but I'm feeling proud of it.

Re-designed the Pygmy Hippo habitat and added another viewing area for the Indian Elephant -- baby steps towards the new "Congo Base Camp" area. Unfortunately, two species (the Elephants and a group of Orangutans) are visible both there and on the Bamboo Trail (Asian area) so, alas, they'll be a bit geographically odd no matter what.

The second bear that you can find in Bear Lake Park is the giant panda, which has a very key location right in the centre of the park. This is a double habitat in case the animals need to be separated. There's an indoor section too and many viewing points.

My main and favourite franchise zoo just reached our current real-life date🥳

Sadly the weather was really bad and you cant see the zoo really😅 Not that you would miss anything anyways, since the layout is rather bad, as I am not good with such things. But I still love this zoo, anyways.❤️ It was neither the first nor the second franchise zoo I built since release, but its the one I played in the most. I started it between January and April 2020. Sadly I cant remember the exact date, but I still know I couldnt play this zoo in all of May 2020, as it had the "infinitive loading bug". Luckily this was fixed^^
I have so many memories with this zoo now. Good and bad. And its also the zoo where my gigantic Giant Pand Uwe was born🐼😁

But now meet one of our most loyal employees!

Now that is one old zoo, my oldest is like 300? I think? And damn your employees gotta tell us their secret to eternal youth :ROFLMAO:

The real question is, though, just how long did you spend in there to get 67mil CC?😂 I mean I already don't know what to do with my 2mil anymore except give it away to newbies, let alone 67mil xD

Today I've been working on Monterey Bay Aquarium 2 - I have expanded the front/ocean side enclosure and put in Californian Seals and out the back - Asian otters - no people yet - still haven't made and entrance - but the building is massive - over 3000 pieces and growing. Very inspired by the Monterey Bay Aquarium - the whole Ocean side is very accurate - but making it bigger and set in a Seaside town - SUPER FUN and lots of underwater viewing areas - tricky to fit multiple levels into such a strangely shaped and brutalist inspired building . . . There will be much more detail and piping too :)

This looks so nice. I like those dark grey Rocks in Combination with the Fog. Also that Baby Hyena on the last Picture is so adorable 😍

More Lemur island work...next step is the roof and then the outdoor part 😄

I really love this 👍
I do also enjoy making realistic Primate Enclosures

Looks really nice. Makes me think that I should probably add Pictures of Marine Center Hawaii to this Thread. But first I should come up with a Idea how to continue the Journey to the Antarctic Building and get the North America Pack so Sealions can move into the current Grey Seal Enclosure (would like Hawaiian Monk Seals better for it though). Still can't play yet though, so it'll take some Time 😕
Just got a Idea though for the Journey to the Antarctic. I might connect it to the Polar Bear Dome which has a partially open Wall on that Side if I remember correctly. If I'll do it like that, I will use the Fake Rocks that I will color white. I might put a Viewing Window to the new Grey Seal Enclosure in there and some Information Board about Polar Bears hunting Seals in the Wild. Maybe I'll also make a Door Frame with the white Fake Rocks, that will connect both Buildings

Today I've been adding the town to Monterey Bay and seeing how the masses walk around the tight and brutalistic - convoluted passages and walkways. I've decided to have restaurants and souvenirs in the Aquarium part and food shops in the town area. It is a fictitious Seaside town - more Amity than Monterey.
I now have 15 exhibits, Platypus, California Seals and Asian Otters (all with underwater viewing) - will be adding other marine/Aquatic habitats too . . .

Looks really nice. Might look good if you'd also add some Moss to the damaged Wall close to the Water

More of my still un-named Asian(ish) themed zoo. This time it's the pangolins with their interior habitat, located in the Bamboo Terrace building (named after the Bamboo Terrace restaurant located in it). There's also a small gift shop and, despite what the restaurant comments would imply, a bathroom. One of only two - you have to have a sturdy bladder in my zoos!

The bamboo terrace building

The bamboo terrace ... terrace. It looks over the paddock for the eurpean fallow deer.

The resturant is always popular (possibly because there's no place else to eat? I am an evil zoo manager).

The gift shop - still need to finish up signage and decorations. The items are not mine - one of many excellent workshop 'gift shop' collections available.

Finally - the pangolin exhibit! Of course, you can't see any of them. They're shy.

As well as an extensive education display.

Despite having no name, this is the most 'complete' zoo I've done. I tend to abandon my zoos fairly quickly (thus, why I tend to work only in sandbox). There's an entire Western Woodlands section nearly done - I decided that, since this was set in (generic) Asia - the 'exotic' animals would be things like beavers and cougars and timber wolves.

Finally did play again and made a Pronghorn Antelope habitat. Still have to finish the outside.
(By the way, did I share the Capybara and Llama habitat here?)

In the meantime I found out that I numbred most of the habitats wrong and gave two habitats the 7. Now, that was an annoying mistake to correct, but it's done. Speaking of done: Can't wait until all habitats are done. I will turn on breeding and aging then (maybe even guests), while doing the last decoration pieces - which still be quite a lot of work, to be fair.

Only 7 habitats to go now, but we all know that's quite a lot actually. I am absolutely not looking forward to the two bear and two canine habitats. And maybe also not the Cougar. I donÄt know why but I find those habitats always harder to make. Maybe I'm only running out of steam now, but I will g finish this zoo!
