What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Not entirely sure as never seen a platypus habitat irl but here's a few pics from the San Diego wildlife park
I actually think I did pretty well, looking at that. It does give me some ideas for a redo, but it's impossible to perfectly replicate since the land requirement is so big.

Anyone else who plays sandbox constantly thinking what to turn on and off with their next project? For me it's always plants and space that I keep ruminating about. "Do I want realistic plants in this zoo or do I want the game challenge and a little more variety? Space on yay or nay?"
I never used the Platypus so far, but your discussion has me thinking about it and the space requirements in game are.... Polar bear pre update 2 like.

When the game released in 2019 i once completed all the scenarios. Some later the Devs added new achievments for finishing the scenarios on the highest difficulty level. Finally I got a gold-star rate for my last Zoo today and within completed all the steam-achievments of the game! So im one of the 0,3%-club now <3

Some real signs! Copying irl zoo signs have worked absolute wonders and wow it is an upgrade. Cant wait to see how it looks in game

Just finished the timed scenario of the NA-Animal-pack DLC. Still 5 Challenges to go.

Someone any ideas how to deal with the electricity issues in the scenario of the africa pack dlc?

Progress in my new zoo.

I made this custom sign for the Arctic fox. There's a real education board stuck inside it. I think it looks nice!

If you follow the path past the Arctic foxes you will be greeted by the Dall sheep! I'm really proud of this habitat - I think it's one of my best. They have a little spot behind the small hill where they can chill without the guests looking at them.

Cozy little sitting spot underneath the olive tree. Right is the path to the Arctic foxes, and the Dall sheep. I will be adding badgers opposite the Dall sheep. On the left side I'm thinking of putting beavers.

Overview of the zoo so far. The facilities aren't pretty yet because I'm waiting for the new building pieces. Same for the entrance.

This looks lovely!

Today I started to make a train station. I was quite pleased with it so far (for a noob lol). I got a bit of inspiration for it from Haverthwaite Station in Cumbria (UK). I think it still looks a bit bare but I'm not sure what else to add yet. It's got a real toilet block in the toilets building and a ticket office under the central area (information booth) and all the paths are connected up underneath the flooring. I hope it will actually work!!

Opened up a new franchise desert zoo, built along for hours, then decided I don't like it and deleted it again.
Sometimes that actually is very fun, at least in my opinion.

What I did today was start to rebuild Montego Bay Zoo. Took advantage and decided to finish research for the last animal I needed: water buffalo.
Afterwards, I built a semi-enclosed reptile house (mostly indoors with some areas without a roof)

So now, I'm waiting for the Twilight Pack to drop to rebuild Longview Zoo, featuring local fauna (raccoons, skunks, foxes, gators, beavers, terrapins, bullfrogs, and imma do cougars, despite not officially there, there are sightings, and Longview is RIGHT on the line of puma distribution)

Currently reworking an entrance for one of my zoos and building a large building that will house my tortoises and dwarf caiman. Still trying to decide on what region I want to do next in my first zoo after the North American section.

Also had an oopsie with some peafowl in the zoos I'm currently working on and now have like 20 gold rated ones I dunno what to do with.

I'm planning to start a new zoo sometime soon, although it may be best to wait until I finish Uni for the year (just a few weeks left to go). However, given I want to mess around with the wombats right on release, I decided to build a little one-off habitat for them:

Technically there are two habitats here, which allows for two pairs of wombats to be housed. As you can see, I am using placeholder wombat models from the Steam workshop for the time being 👌

In order to keep with the "twilight" theming of the pack, I also decided to make sure the habitat was nice and lit up in soft blue light for nocturnal viewing:

And here's a nice morning shot just coz:

You can be sure you'll see more of this little build when the pack releases tomorrow, as I'll make some small changes (probably gonna integrate the dead wood/roots into the habitats and add some non-gargoyle wombat scenery) and take lots of pictures of the wombats exploring their new home.

As a final note, here's the custom infoboard I made in case you wanted a better look at it:

As an addition to this (forgot to ask this yesterday): You can see that one of the glass walls is higher than the others. It's not my purpose but I just can't lower this particular glass wall. I always get an error that there is a collision with the water. I even removed the water, rebuilt part of the glass walls and it's still the same wall that I can't lower. Do you have any solution for this? It's so annoying.

the water could be bugged. Usually fixed by removing water and raising all the glass again - add water and redo. If still not working, sometimes you need to actually remove the glass barriers and redo it all again
