What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

I built this aviary. It's not quite done yet. At the moment, of course, only the bats in there, but hopefully we'll get other contemporaries for the big box.
I hope that it will also be possible in the future to remove the path from the middle.
btw the shadows on the right *chef kiss :ROFLMAO:

Here's a suggestion: the way you built it, you should take advantage of the doors and open them, making it seem like it's 1 huge aviary and the bats can fly to each section. Does that make sense?

That's a great idea. The doors would even fit. But it is more intended to accommodate 3 different species later. The bats are just placeholders. Also, I don't think the aviary itself is really suitable for bats (it's just too bright for them)
In theory, you could also remove the boxes and keep smaller species in them (capuchin monkeys or raccoons, for example)
I'm having a lot of fun building covers for the "aviary" boxes. 😁

Felt like sharing my take on the bats here.
I think I am going to submit it to the competition, just not sure if I want to do it in form of pictures or video. And I need to adjust some parts I'm less satisfied with, the entrance itself (pic 2) feels a bit underwhelming.

I have played around with the height to see how high the bats go, and the roof on the inside is now built at around 6m (2m lower than the exhibit). So far I have only seen one loop that takes the bat above that height, and that loop is far from there every time I look.
On the other hand, several loops go just under 6m, making it look like they fly just under the ceiling which looks quite realistic. So I think it works alright like that.

Nice , you got the barriers sorted out :D
Well, not really to be honest. I deleted the whole barrier and made a new one but I still had the same issue (and even worse, there were three glass barrier panels with the issue). Because this bug really drove me crazy, I decided to raise all the other glass panels to have at least all at the same height. Though I still would like them lower but apparently this is not possible for me:ROFLMAO:

Made some good progress on the sea lion arena

I really like it. This makes me want to finish the Bottlenose Dolphin Tank in my Marine Park (which should hopefully be big enough if we get them. Even if Frontier should give them absolutely ridiculous Requirements. If I remember it's approximately double the Size of the Polar Bear Dome which is built to support two Adults and two Cubs)

Btw... I don't think I ever showed the resolution
Tadaa!

Wow, it's great👍
I really hope I'll also manage to build so great despite the Fact that I couldn't play since January

Today I spent about half an hour back in my wombat one-off habitat just watching the animals do their thing, and I got my first wombat joeys!

Unfortunately, it seems when they have a burrow available they will choose to have offspring in there, and when they do they just lie down and and their child magically appears like a boring placental. I've seen videos of their pouch emergence animation and it's great, so I really hope they make a fix to allow the animation to play out from within the burrow (if it's not just my game being weird, that is). Otherwise, I'll just have to delete the burrow every time offspring is imminent lol.

In the end though I'm just really happy that we not only have another marsupial, but that it gives confirmation that they're going to be carrying over the pouch mechanic into future additions. I think the Tasmanian devil will be particularly interesting because, unlike the marsupials added so far, they have litters of multiple offspring.

Just found out the annoying way that you can only have four burrow cams going at once. Pretty frustrating, because we're up to 8 animals that can use burrows now if I've counted right. I'd already had two set up for my red foxes and skunks, and was trying to set up a "burrow wall" for my desert house which would showcase the meerkats, aardvarks, and a dummy one I put in with the fennecs, but that idea sure fizzled out quick.

I started work on the entrance.

It still needs a lot of detailing. I actually didn't mean it to look so fairytale-like I suppose, but the pieces are so good, and I just kept going and I like the end result. It's a bit more thematic with the towers than I originally had planned, but I like it so I'm leaving it like this! :)

European badger habitat. I know it might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I always had this idea to make a cute badger habitat with mushrooms. It reminds me of fairytales. And I finally did it. I think it looks cute! :giggle: Besides the burrow, they also have a little cave under the path. I actually have to put in the badgers so the terrain might change a bit.

Path with Japanese maple trees (I believe that's what they are) - right is the Dall sheep, left European badger.

Progress so far.

Really nice. I had the Idea for a medieval themed Zoo once and those new Pieces would be perfect for that 👍

Woah, so many fantastic creations.

I am terrible at making 'natural' habitats and, although I loved building in sandbox, I didn't enjoy the animal options. So I have opened a new franchise zoo. And I decided to abandon trying to make proper habitats and make a kind of 'fantasy' zoo instead - it is going to be set in a town with lots of buildings.

My start was a binturong habitat, which is the town 'park':

They quite enjoy it! They even went into the sandpit lol.

Then I started the first staff area, which I am still working on, but this is it so far (please remember I am still a noob!):

Is there a trick to getting two-lined custom signs, or is this not possible? Eg. the standing sign in front of the vet surgery - I would have liked to have put more words on it, but they only squish into one line instead of part of it going underneath.
