What do you want to do in Planet Zoo

I make a zoo for every new pack release. Here's a rough draft for how I'd organize the one for the Zookeeper Animal Pack and the new anniversary animal:
  • Pallas Cat and Markhor - Asian Highlands Area
  • Hamadryas Baboon - Desert Area
  • Spectacled Bear - Tropical South America
  • Kirk's Dik-Dik and African Leopard - African Area
  • Coquerel's Sifaka - Madagascar House
  • African Spurred Tortoise - Reptile House
I'm trying to think of some ideas for a theme. Should I go for a classic theme and make it look like a historic zoo like the Bronx Zoo? Or does anyone have any other ideas?

Hahaha, I went back to one of my Mediterranean zoo sketches to see where to plan Tortoise and Baboon habitats, and I see that I left big area that would either be SA Grasslands or Tropical Mexico depending on which South American monkey we will get in the last pack.

Maybe first time in PZ my optimism let me down lol

Welp here i am after another building session and some clearer thoughts.
Now that the biggest headache of how im gonna build my roof is answerd, i looked at my zoo and thought a bit about how to layout my tropical house and the area around it.
We got the paths in gray and the tropical house in red. I want a path to go around it from the old bear pit, that also circles two other habitats in yellow and blue until it reconnects with the path through the tropical house and goes back to the start of the zoo, finishing the first 2 loops and marking the moment when my zoo would be functional for guest path finding (which isnt important anymore cause funny franchise mode bugs but hey is something).
For what i actually want to put in, the green box is an outdoor aviary part for the freeflying birds of my tropical house aswell as most likly peafowl so i actually have something walking around. The light blue will be for a smaller animal that will get the second indoor holding space, most likly the binturong but if anyone has another thought im open for idears.
Im not sure yet what to do with the yellow, it will either be another habitat connected to the tropical house or 1 or 2 smaller ones connected to their own building for something like kirks dikdik and maybe porcupines, even if the dik dik doesnt fit the asia vibes but hey i can pretend its a muntjak. Alternativly this could also be were my tapirs go, but i think i might want to wait with them for their own renovated enclosure for example in the purple spot. And lastly in the dark blue square at the bottom will be a staff building and 1 or 2 aviary for cold resistant birds, most likly owls

A mix for red panda and otter would fit pretty well into the yellow one, to tie in both with the tropical asian animals and the cold climate one

Ohh thats a really nice idear, but i allready mixed otters with babirusas in the tropical house.
SEA might be very well represented in general but as with everywhere once you start stacking smaller animals you quickly run out of them

Damn 😂
Yeah small critters that you can squeeze in somewhere are unfortunately not very plentyfull.
"Indian" porcupine and red panda could also be in interesting mix, cranes aswell

Want to renovate the Entrance Area (including the Gorilla House) in my Primatology Center and also the Madagascar House, but stupid Real Life Stuff prevents me from it🙄

With my Tasmania area complete its time for our next part of the zoo. The theme for this area is Siberia:

The lynx habitat is already built and part of the Europe area but with extra viewing it will act as a sort of a transition for both areas. Of course the macaques are not Siberian but nestling a little Japanese pond garden in the woods sounded like a cute idea. The main focus will be on the three large carnivores, all will have indoor viewing too but for the most part the species will be viewed from an overhead bridge and the whole area will be very densely forested. I also want to include a restaurant since my zoo doesn't have one yet, I think having it overlook both big cat habitats would be a fun idea.

I’ll admit with Halloween right around the corner I have been marathoning movies in my spare time. However, when I hopefully have spare time to play again I want to start using the mods that I downloaded. I want to get back into playing the game and building again, so either:
  1. I’m gonna continue my current zoo in sandbox. Just with my new mods. Considering I now have some good tropical birds I might as well start finishing some projects.
  2. I’m gonna only build habitats and “areas” to get the creative juices flowing. Maybe actually build a full zoo? I got to be honest I don’t like building entrance areas so maybe going right to animals might be nice.
Mods are great! But man, having ducks that don’t make duck noises is a bit surreal. Whatever, our modders are amazing and it’s free to me so beggars can’t be choosers!

I want to build an Americas zoo…
I’ll admit, I got the wood duck mod. And I’ll probably get the Turkey and American black bear. I really want to build a zoo for my local wildlife.

Was thinking of naming it Mt. Washington Zoo and basing it off Squam Lake Natural Science Center.

we should join forces. I rarely get past the entrance... and I have already planned 3 entrances in addition to my two current projects :ROFLMAO:
As the Frontier gods decree: one player will play Planet Entrance, and so shall another play Planet Animal. Both must exist, but very few can be both.

On the whole though, I almost never finish anything mostly because I rarely get to play. And when I do I get no inspiration and frustration hits at the same time!

Tbh, that sounds like me.
I build entrances and parking lots with a lot of love. Sometimes 1-3 enclosures too, then I often don't know how to continue, think about it for too long... and start a new entrance because I had a new idea.
I've been thinking for a long time about whether I should just specialize in building entrances and then share my "zoos" in the workshop and let others build the animals.
But there's still this one wish: "I want to finish a zoo" that keeps getting in my way...and I hate everything about it.

Yeah, I’ll say with mods I’m starting to get back into building again. I am going to get the puffin mods and would love to build for them! I just wish they could make the correct noise.

Does anyone know how to upload custom sounds to the speakers?

I want to wait until Wednesday, maybe they will say something about the end for pz1 🤷‍♀️

I got to be honest, if after all this time. ALL THIS TIME. I have waited to get into modding for birds and monkeys, to potentially have Frontier turn around and say “Oh btw we have birds and monkeys coming” I’ll be both happy and very annoyed.

I am personally not getting my hopes up, I waited months hoping we could get a NWM and a good bird or two and got jack. I really don’t want to get my hopes up like that again.

I would literally have nothing new to add into the conversation! I would basically post the same stuff as before, other than the fact I got the hamadryas baboon and the tortoise.

I really doubt they would explicitly say this is the end, because of the description they used for the Stream: "the celebration continues". Now saying this is it would not be much of a celebration now, would it (except for a few people that are eager for PZ to end because of possibility of PZ2 or use of mods or whatever), I really do not think Frontier would use that wording if that would be the case.

That said, I do not think it will be anything significant, maybe something unrelated like a giveaway or community competition. The best case scenario would be"more is comming" but we will see.
