Had some issues with crew schedules but it appears fixed in latest version. The playthrough has advanced to occupied France and I run a VIIC/42 now with snorkel and Metox - my build feels complete for now. Got a high value mission target last mission and peeked at the wreck if I could salvage maybe tech that was allegedly aboard but no dice. Sound model seems to work over boat switches now, too. Soon the cargo ships ships will get their armaments I suppose and gunboat attacks will become rarity. As in all EA phases the vanilla stacking limits annoy me a bit.Oooooh, Uboat Full release August 2nd

I haven't seen any such claims. Maybe a misunderstanding? Currently you cannot skip IIB or VIIB if you start in IIA - you have to unlock all in order. I needed to go from VIIB to VIIC and then to VIIC/42.I read one of the updates forces you to upgrade boat from type IIA? Is tehre a way to not do that or mod it out?
Ah, yes, that's from the new patch notes, right. The missions will shift to the west which makes the IIA unsuitable. The IID is basically the same boat but with more fuel. It still is a Type II boat.Preview 21
- If a Type IIA U-boat is still used after 10th of June 1940, the command now orders the player to upgrade it to a Type IID or later, since all Allied shipping routes are beyond its range at this point and it's not possible to send it on any patrol assignment.
I just want to try play Type II forever.
Yeah, I thought it looked kind of weird from what I've seen on Youtube. The Type II is scary - it doesn't have any partitions - no bulkheads.
It is however accurate.Yeah, I thought it looked kind of weird from what I've seen on Youtube.
I watched a hands youtube video on this yesterday, and it sounds like it's in a rough state. Very buggy and not fun was the impression they gave. The worst bit for me was they said enemy AI seems to spot you from miles away and stop what they are doing to attack you, which is the complete opposite of how it was supposed to work. You were supposed to be sneaking around avoiding combat as much as possible. Sounds like that's not possible in the game as it is.Anyone else been looking at Forever Winter? I love the art style which is inspired by Phil Tippett's "Mad God" and I also love the fact that you play a scavenger in a huge war that just goes on around you.
