What GPU do you have in your PC?

AMD Radeon HD 8510G

Frontier says my card is way too low to play the game but I've cranked down the graphics and it runs just fine.. Even with Horizons. Wish I could upgrade.. but, you know... life...

GTX 970 at 2440x1440 on 33" Benq monitor.

I see Oculus are recommending a 970 for the rift rather than a 980, though without mentioning ED. I'll see how that goes before upgrading to a 980 for VR.

Everything cranked up to the max in game (AA off). 120fps in supercruise, around 55fps inside stations, 30-40fps on planets.
Considering a third...

The cards overclock very well indeed. In side-by-side 3D at 4K ED j-u-d-d-e-r-s and pa---u-----------se-----s like crazy, particularly on the jump into and out of normal space. I suspect it's an issue with the current Nvidia drivers, though. Don't have anywhere near enough time to experiment and determine the exact cause, or whether it's some obscure craziness within ED.

Running HD7850 on high settings (I think), aa off. Runs smoothly at ~30 - 35fps on planet, 40 - 45fps in space.
I think it looks great (however I also thought it looked great when I ran it on HD4850 but was stunned when I upgraded) but would love to be see it in its full glory!

Wise decision. Like you I have a GTX 970.

This year AMD are launching their "Arctic Island" range of 14nm (nanometer) graphics cards and nVidia are doing the same with their "Pascal" GPU range. Hopefully Q2 this year. These cards will be at least 2.7 times faster than the current generation of GPUs. nVidia are claiming the Pascal GPU is 10x faster than their Maxwell GPUs!

So this year we'll see a jump in GPU performance and while the top-end cards (GTX 980 replacement) will still be mad-hatter prices (£500+) the mid-range cards (GTX 960 price equivalent) will be in the realms of the possible price-wise, they should perform at least as good as the current 980s/Titans.
A typical GTX 960 is a little over half the power of a GTX980, so the Pascal GPU equivalent will be faster than a 980 by more than half.

That's good news for several reasons. Existing cards will drop in price sharply. And you should be able to pick up a new generation GFX card (AMD or nVidia) that is better than a GTX 980 for £150-£200, half the current price for that level of performance.

Just in time for VR to give you a reason to upgrade!

When I started late Beta back in October/November 2014 My Radeon HD6750 was up to the job. Then I decided I needed an Oculus Rift DK2 (obviously), so moved on to a GTX970 - which has been fine ever since.
