What I think we want ...

We want to participate and play!
Not get stuck with outfitting a Ship or yourself while undocking cause you cannot afford the rebuy. We want to experiment with various Ship outfits. No one can afford this atm. We want to focus on Guardians, Thargoids and Community Goals! Not getting stuck while farming a Module. We want a fair payouts and not sponsoring Supermights so they can capture another System. We want End Game Content after 3 Years and not getting the same reward as a Player who just started his career. We want carefully executed patches who actually add Content to the Game. Not temporarily removed Core Mechanics. I could continue forever, but nobody got time for that now. Thanks to FDev returning the unbearable Grind Mode. And don’t tell me I could do hauling Missions or something else. I don’t care what I do. I need it to be effective and it has to be fun. Endless Grinding can’t be the purpose of a Game. Rewards and Fun are the Keywords.

I don't want this. I'm actually okay with all the stuff as it is right now. :D
I get some of the complaints people have, but if you kill off all the points you listed, you can as well go and play something else more focused on instant gratification. Because that's not Elite and I hope it will never be.

So, you are happy the Way this Game is performing? Why then hang around and comment on Forums. You could have enjoyed the Premium Gameplay meanwhile.

Not a single constructive Answer ...

* Yes: overall, I think 3.0 is a big step in the right direction. I'm more hopeful for the rest of the Beyond releases now than I was towards the end of 2.4.

* I like the forums, they're entertaining.

* I enjoyed Volyboom. It's gone now, so I'm going to buy another Corvette and when my new graphics card arrives, can't wait to get down and amongst the dirt on the new planets.

Happy now?

Cause this is not a discussion, this is a Kindergarten.

Starting a thread with melodramatic hyperbole isn't conducive to constructive discussion.

True, but what about removing Core Gameplay? Ground Scans, Passenger Missions and now Skimmers. What’s next? I actually enjoyed Passenger Missions. Where are the rewards? Or the Fix? Not in sight.

Don't know about anyone else but I quite fancy a full English

As far as Elite goes I'm loving it and have done since ps4 release. Sure some things could be done better/ more quickly but all of Beyond is free so on balance life is good (and soon baconey)

Removing Core Gameplay Mechanics for Weeks is ok? Not fixing Stuff which needs ASAP to be fixed is ok? Not everybody is unemployed. People actually have Real Life’s! But FDev does not want those people to play their game? Hmmm ...

Errr...so what do you (not "we") want exactly?

* Do you want other gameplay options while one is temporarily disabled? You got it!
* Do you want bugfixes? You got it!
* Do you want ongoing development of new features? You got it!
* Do you want ongoing improvement of existing features? You got it!
* Do you want a place to whine because one small component of a very large game is not working as intended, and you just can't deal with it? YOU GOT IT!

You're talking about "grind" in game, where more than half of players fly around entire galaxy, scanning planets, doing screenshots. For months. Some people do it for years. Literally pressing few buttons for years. So you're alone in this "grind" situation. We love grind. Otherwise people dont play Elite :) For example i love this game so much, and i have only 2 hours max per day.

There is one in sight, one of the community managers posted that a fix will be coming.

From how quickly Volyboom was stomped on and the wording of the posts from the dev/community team, I feel that a tipping point may have been reached these last few days. They know that the missions themselves aren't the problem and although extreme outliers of the BGS, they are occurring naturally. The real problem is the one of mode-switching and mission stacking. Perhaps they're taking a step back and looking at this holistically, and working on the premise that prevention is better than a cure.

A fix is in sight, the dev/community team have said exactly that. When, and what form it will take is something that we will have to wait and see.

In the meantime, no amount of indignant dummy-spitting, toy-throwing and foot-stomping is going to help anyone.

What I want is balance!
Boring hauling gets you more money than Bounty Hunting. Etc. How can somebody not see this? And that’s not the only imbalance.

Now they are removing Stuff which you were able to do from the beginning. And I remember. It wasn’t called an exploit when it first got up.

I want to go home (at work currently) and play ED.

I agree. I've been enjoying the newly colorized planets and the (somewhat older) neutron star boosts. The need for low-level materials (and increased storage) has lured me to drive around in my SRV. The SRV scanner finally works the way it should have the day it was introduced. I've actually had fun driving around and shooting rocks; it's way less annoying than it used to be.

Depending on my mood, I sometimes spend more time in the forums than in the game itself, but I went on the Enigma Expedition and it rekindled my love of exploring and I'm truly enjoying the game again.

Ah. So you agree with FDev's decision to temporarily disable skimmers till they rebalance it then?

Sorry - that wasn't clear from your original post.

You seem angry. Maybe you should take a break from the game if this (and exploration payouts) enrages you so much.

I liked doing Passengers and Skimmers. My Content is gone. Also Bounty Hunting needs a rework too. But for me, balancing means not removing content till it is solved. They should have come up with a solution and then implement it. Now they stripped a lot of Pilots of their daily routine. That’s not the way you solve Problems. They just let them disappear and tell us that there will be a fix in „Weeks“. Really? Maybe you are right, I should take a break. This makes me mad.
