What is fundamentally wrong with this game.

Very simple: you can REALLY hurt people by killing them.
Really hurt? Yes, because it will cost a player REAL-LIFE time to earn the rebuy back.

It also costs real life time to get position back. It also costs real life time to engage with others in the first place.
Rebuys can also be so small that earning them back takes a single jump or less.
 
It costs real life time to play the game. Having your ship destroyed is part of the game. Shock horror you need to put real time in to play the game to get money back.

I really can't understand the issue.

It is central premise of the game. There are very few games out there that do that.

If you are playing this game just to win and never lose you will struggle a lot.
 
I think people have become stuck in a negativity echo chamber - there's more moaning about the game than there is actually playing it and enjoying it.

It is a bit catch 22. When I play game I completely forget about forums. I simply have no time for them. Which is a pity, because despite everything I like good argument. However when you have real life and limited amount of hours to play, visiting forums - especially with such toxicity - is really not and option.

"..REAL-LIFE time.."
Now that's a phrase I plan on using in everyday conversation.
"But you don't understand. Jury duty doesn't just waste my time, It wastes my REAL-LIFE time so obviously I should be excused."
"Sorry Dear. That dinner with your folks cuts into my REAL-LIFE time."
"Oh when you said be here at three o'clock did you mean regular time or REAL-LIFE time?"

Just kiddin' around. I do almost everything in my life in REAL-LIFE time.
For me it's the only time there is.

You just cost me REAL-LIFE time for making me read a completely useless thread. I'd like my time back please or else I'll report you to Frontier.
 
There's only one person that gets hurt by being killed. The guy who went to smeaton and ground out 850m credits in order to outfit a pve meta anaconda and faceroll everything. THis is fine for the first few days, then it suddenly hits him that every time he dies he gets a 40m+ bill. Three deaths later, there are no rebuys left and he's here making a forum post about how much it hurts to get killed. ;)
