What is the "its so cool" about p12?

It appears to be the removal of eyebrows and general screwing up of portraits. Cool, huh?

How do you attain that clean shave sir?

Truth is I think update 12 took about 30 years off both my holo-mes. They had the age slider I may be overlooking but can't find now, they had it most the way up. Now they are fresh young folk

Over the last weeks p12 has been praised and we heard multiple times that it will be cool, looks great etc.

After reading the patch notes, only "interact with bartender while sitting" and "interact with seat console in carries" seem to be really new. The defense mission is a reskin and everything else is a bugfix or more or less a minor QoL adjustment. To be honest, after reading the notes, the first words that ran through my mind were "maintenance mode".
And as usual (for over a year now), again no 32 button fix?

I sense much scepticism in you...

Yeah, I'm back up to like 34 FPS from 27 for the last couple Odyssey updates. :giggle:

I'm still good with Horizons for now at 7 to 9 fold the performance.

🍻
There are people here who would insist to you that 34fps is actually really good and that you're actually over-entitled for wanting decent framerates because "clearly your hardware is ancient" despite them not actually knowing what hardware you have.

Only thing "wrong" with my PC is that the hardware feature used to be actively supported by Frontier but no longer is with Odyssey, since I use SLI. They've got less niche issues to bother with for now, presumably, which is somewhat understandable, even if it means Odyssey is a bit of a lemon for me as a result.

In a way it is a bottleneck of the game, since it makes less efficient use of multiple cards whereas before it used to make more efficient use of multiple cards. This compounds the issue and is how the performance difference is so extreme for me, Horizons performing roughly 7 to 9 times better than Odyssey, 27~34 FPS for Odyssey to 230~260 FPS for Horizons.

In car terms it's sort of like putting a differential between the gears and the engine, so only a fraction of a fraction of the power of the engine can actually reach the road, or perhaps more accurately, having two engines with a differential between them, but Odyssey only bothering to use the throttle for one of them, but I digress...

🍻

That's the truth of the matter. I consider it a late beta with U12. At this pace, the game should be a proper v1.0 just about when Starfield is released. 😁
I saw the trailer for that yesterday. I wonder if the other 'space games' players are also considering 'jumping ship', it does look rather interesting!

It looks like Skyrim with spaceships. Personally I prefer my RPGs fantasy flavored 🤷‍♂️
I just like RPGs in general, even ED is pretty much one for me, so the trailer was 'pushing the right buttons' in my head.
Of course, if it had VR too, that would be excellent!

Personally, I have time to play multiple games, being retired, so, understandably, another string to my bow is welcome.

SLI isn't supported by anyone anymore. Even the manufacturer of your GPU doesn't support it...
